I'd argue negativity among humans is mainly a product of ignorance, not knowledge. Most angry mobs egged on by lies and deception to murder their own neighbors will calm down and disburse once the lies and deceptions are shown to be just that.

No. Looking to the past helps make amends and *fix* current problems. Refusing to look at the past only maintains a status quo that benefits those in power.
