😲-Whoa! I had NO idea.

While driving today, I randomly saw a message on a Little Caesars marquee that mentioned something about "puff, puff, puff", and just from that, the idea of Puff the Magic Dragon might be about marijuana.

I grew up living near one of the three, and I can tell you they were not fond of the urban legend/myth/assumption. I'm not a drug guy, but none of the other lyrics make sense in relation to that idea, either. And finally, word from the writer himself:

I think the internet has amplified this tendency: We come up with a narrative, or our own slant about a work of art, and we fall in love with it. It's human nature, and it's part of appreciating things. Social media, and maybe just culture in general, can carry such a momentum with it...
