Oh nice! Need to check that out, heard good things
Yeah, the performances in this are decent enough and some* of the action is decent enough. But otherwise there are a lot of scenes that are shot in a really confusing messy way, like there's very little clarity of action choreography/geography lol
It's like they said "Hey so these cops get involved in some stuff" and someone else said "yeah and?" And they replied "no that's it. That's the whole thing". Like they didn't really know what kind of movie they actually wanted to make
Absolutely agree. It was also like it couldn't decide between looking slick or gritty in terms of cinematography. Also don't know why I found it funny that it seems like they didn't set it in an actual city, just some named place that's clearly trying to be New York or Boston lol
Lol nope, apparently it's supposed to be vague. It's a strange decision for this movie where some of the subtext, and text, is the city politics and whatnot. Whitaker's character is a literally trying to be a mayor but you're trying to invoke the politics and history of a city that...doesn't exist?
Also, always a good time to recommend probably my favorite action movies ever, The Raid and The Raid 2. It was disappointing to see Evans to go from that to...this
