Pro publica is pretty good. NPR is mid these days, but not pure propaganda. I listen to Death Panel when I have the emotional bandwidth.

The AP & Reuters have put up some pretty soft hitting stuff lately—not so much bending the knee, but avoiding ire (which, then, is there a difference?). Wired and Rolling Stone still seem hard hitting. Check the gift article feed for anything with a paywall. NYT & WAPO EDITORIALS can s/times be ok.

@texasstandard.bsky.social is also good. They include national stuff. They are on public radio sometimes (not sure if it is also where you can listen online). I heard them interviewing a non-insane republican who headed USAID while George W Bush was in office. He pointed out obvious lies.

The Pălèṣtînìan gèńocíɗe has taught me all mainstream media, including NPR is propaganda trash for the most part. Creators on sites like this, TikTok, and Instagram that source are transparent are the best. I know that sounds weird, but it's true.

I watch Democracy Now! headlines on YouTube. They run Monday through Friday, and it's only about 10 minutes of my day. They often report US and world news suppressed by corporate media, and they've been around for 28 years (viewer funded) and won't be bought out.
