Sagan’s quote, “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence,” is my yardstick when evaluating hype-heavy press releases. In this case, Cambridge’s press release doesn’t reflect the results published in the peer-reviewed paper. That disconnect erodes public trust in scientists and science. 🧪🔭
