I love libraries because they serve everyone—cradle to grave. Libraries provide a community space that is welcoming to all. Oh, and there are books, magazines, videos, cake pans, fishing poles, and more!
Some of the nicest people that I have met have been through my local library.

I work at a public library and I love giving access to so many different things to so many different people. Giving new cards to new patrons and opening up this world of possibilities to them gives me joy every day.

My library is bright and airy, love going and browsing in the stacks and discovering a new author. Plus they offer many events: learn to crochet, baby play groups, mental health advocacy, teen safe space discussions - truly a gem in our community.

I live in a very rural part of Quebec, Canada. Our local library is tiny and here in Quebec English speakers are a minority. Without Libby and the access it gives me to regional libraries as well as the Quebec Provincial Library there would not be a lot for me to read in my own language.

I love libraries because they supply me with books that help me get away from the real world. Also my son who has autism loves to read & that is one way he & I relate to each other. He gets excited about a book & tells me I have to read it. I read it & then we discuss it. Our favorite? Dresden Files

Thank you. I believe in reading books to him when he was little and then kind of making him read really helped his verbal skills. Now you will not find him without a book or without his kindle.

My library was my church, my sanctuary growing up. The quiet of that place and the knowledge found there helped me escape the dysfunction and thrive as a human. I also owe a debt to the librarian for her love and guidance of all who used it regularly.

I’m a big fan of digital libraries so I can stay in my hermit era. And I’m so grateful that so many things are available to me (and ever more grateful I don’t have to remember to take them back to the library 😬😂). I’ve learned so much through access from my library 💜

At my old library I used to order a lot of obscure books. A librarian, who I eventually got to know, would sneak in notes with snarky comments. It got to where I looked forward to the notes more than the books.
