It's Okay to Not be OK
Prison Playbook (leaving US Netflix at end of month!)
Man to man
100 days my prince
Crash landing
Memories of the Alhambra
Divorce atty Shin
Mesiang (SP???)
When Camelias Bloom
Chicago typewriter (my favorite but no longer on Netflix)
Aetwon Class (SP?)
DP 1 and 2
That's my abbreviated list of the best ones. We started during Covid. forced us to not multitask and took us away on a foreign adventure with different culture and food and story telling. Now it's a great escape from the Orange Menace. at least for a few episodes a night!
Try their horror (though Netflix doesn't have a good selection). They get under your skin and haunt you to your core without jumpscares or gimmicky gore.
Oh my God RIGHT?! I had never been exposed to them before, watched one like two years ago,and now? They're always adding some really good ones! Wish I'd have branched out sooner
Ironically (given I live in Japan), I haven't watched any Japanese dramas, but have seen a few Korean ones and they were good. The Glory was brutal was so, so good.
I have watched Alice in Borderlands, but not sure that counts as a Japanese drama. 😅
The Uncanny Counter is my favorite one. I really liked Bloodhounds, All of Us Are Dead, Kingdom, Racket Boys, Ferats Cuisine, Move to Heaven, and Itaewon Class. I typically don't watch the romance ones.
