This. 100%. Because I have a job. Its already challenging & stressful. I dont need challenging and stressful in my recreation time. I want to chill and have fun. Its like reading a trashy/pulpy novel. I am not looking for intellectualism. I am looking to be entertained.
It's an accessibility tool too. Many people with low vision struggle to react in time and easy mode makes the game playable and is often still challenging.
100% agree! As someone with ADHD sometimes my reaction can be delayed because things take me a little bit of extra time to process. Easy mode definitely can be more forgiving 👍🏼
I wish more games would do that. I'm looking for an enjoyable experience and if something is too difficult or I'm not getting it for whatever reason that sucks the fun out of it real quick!
Fallen Order and Survivor taught me it's ok to lower the difficulty setting ad hoc.
But fiddling with it made my finish Skyrim on hard without knowing. :)

Though I have started playing 1 level in a game on the harder difficulties solely so I can skip the opening cut scene & tutorial.
