I never understood that for both CPU and GPUs they make just one main chip design for the i3,i7,i9 and 3060,3080,3090 but the difference is that the cheaper chips have more failing cores/segments. It both speaks to a clever way of selling the imperfect chips and also the difficulty of producing them
