Takada (now Joetsu) which is barely above sea level used to get much heavier snow than it does now. I've seen photos with a narrow canyon carved through the snow in the middle of the street.
Interesting to see the actual figures for this year. Surprised to see less snow accumulation than last year. I assumed this year was close to 2022, which was my first winter in the village
