Pikachu are known for their thunderbolt tails, but it wasn't until Gen 4 that female Pikachu would get a heart tail. Ten years after the first game.⚡️❤️
That means female and male Pikachu looked identical from Gen 2 to gen 3! Transferring to Gen 4 meant a visible change!

I wrote stories and drew my girl Pikachu since I was a kid with a thunderbolt tail. Since the game forced the change gen 4 onward, I imagined a story like this, that she chose to have her tail changed herself. And that it made her happy! 💖
