I’m a consultant with a special interest in Long COVID & ME. I treat 100s of patients from around the UK at the moderate to severe end of the spectrum. The only way I can do this is outside of the NHS, as the there is currently no commissioned service ANYWHERE in the NHS for people with severe ME.

The Government is due to publish it’s final delivery plan in the coming months, which aims to boost research and improve care for people with ME, but so far NO funding has been allocated to the plan.

Public finances are tight but what we are asking for is a drop int he ocean compared to the health economic burden of this number of sick people around the country. Just £20 million behind the plan would make a huge difference.

People with ME are calling on the government to invest in the future and reverse generations of neglect. I am standing by them to say: Please fund the plan.
