why the fuck is literally everything like this these days? every service, every necessary activity, everything to do with money or health is a multi-hour maze of robots, errors, forms, and customer service reps with no agency to fix anything.

I went through the same issue a few times. If it's an option, see if your insurance has a mail-order option! I've had no issues with that, and they let me know as soon as I can refill so I never run out.
