Spectaculars, by @scratchpadpub.bsky.social, is another game I've seen first-time GM's pick up and run with gusto. I love how it feels like an entire game-in-a-box, even if you're running online. Character creation feels full of possibility, but it gives you helpful limitations - a great balance!

External Containment Bureau, by Mythic Gazetteer, is a great introduction to Forged in the Dark games, without leaving the creation of a plot up to the GM. You can pick up a pre-written scenario and learn the basics of Forged games, without too much bookkeeping to learn all at once.

AGON, by @johnharper.bsky.social, felt like a fresh, brand-new approach to TTRPGs for me, with an excellent setting that feels like a siren song to many folks: who doesn't love Greek Mythology? It's also a great introduction to figuring out the narrative AFTER you make a roll.

Visigoths vs Mall Goths, by Lucian Kahn, is a PbtA-style game with a lot of pieces of the setting pre-determined: you're teens in a mall that comes pre-populated with interesting NPCs and a bunch of different scenarios to throw at your players. Great example of how restriction can breed creativity.

I think Mausritter, by @losing.games, is a relatively simple introduction to the OSR, that does a good job of communicating how fragile your characters truly are, simply due to the fact that they're mice. I definitely recommend running the game with a pre-written adventure, though.

ARC, by @momatoes.com, seems to be built with first-time Game Masters in mind. You can run it for 1 session or a short campaign, and I feel like the use of a Doom Clock is an excellent way to teach the GM about pacing. It's also setting-neutral!
