The joys of overwintering #chillies! This paprika pepper (Alma pepper) has been in a pot since last summer and continues to grow in my attic. The fruits are ripe and I even have new flowers soon! 🌱

Encouraging signs of Spring in my garden this week. Six photos and a short read #sixonsaturday n20gardener.com/2025/02/22/s... 🌱

#SixOnSaturday is the frozen flowers edition from the ice storm we had Wednesday night. Flowers covered in a film of ice give them a made out of glass look 😃 #Flowers #Gardening #Plants #FlowerReport #GardeningFeed #Winter #BloomScrolling

In today's #SixOnSaturday ... Bay buds, Snowdrops, the Lesser celandine 'Brazen Hussy,' a Hellebore, a Crocus & Iris reticulata ''Clairette' 🌱 onemanandhisgardentrowel.wordpress.com/2025/02/22/s...

#sixonsaturday 22-02-25 : crocus, choca , day lilies, butternut squash, radishes and rhododendron are on the program today. 🌱🤗 fredgardenerblog2.wordpress.com/2025/02/22/s...

“Whilst the Snowdrop enters with so quiet a footstep that it might almost pass unobserved amidst the remnants of the melting snow, the Crocus bursts upon us in a blaze of colour like the sun-rise of the flowers…” - Forbes Watson (1840-1869). #FlowerFridayFamily

🌱 I love the color of this daylily. 💜🩷💛 I'm really missing the color green right now. Everything out here in the woods is white and grey. #gardening #flowers

Well the power has returned 🙌and the greenhouse is properly warm again.🔥I will have to see what is damaged after a day or two. 🙏🤞not much thawing today outside ❄️ #Gardening #Winter #FlowerReport #GardeningFeed

Very mild weather with 15°c this afternoon allowed me to take my big banana tree out so that it could enjoy a pseudo spring air! (Dwarf cavendish banana ) 😀🌱

The pseudanthium (an inflorescence that functions like a flower) is very obvious in Houttuynia cordata, the only species in the genus. This plant has leaves that smell of fish (to my nose). They are used as both medicinal & culinary herbs in SE Asia. #Saururaceae #botany 🌾🧪🌱

Why my focus on Aloes? A main reason is their nectar producing flowers for hummingbirds and the fact that they do so well in Brazil. This plant was flowering at Naples Botanical Garden. No label present.

A few February garden flowers to bring you some cheer on a chilly Wednesday evening! #DailyBotanicalBeauty

#Amaryllis pinkolo is now in her full glory😍the next two days here are weather alert 🚨 days with freezing rain and or sleet 😬❄️ #Gardening #Flowers #Plants #FlowerReport #GardeningFeed #GYO #BloomScrolling

#TuesdayBlues are some blue eyed daisies grown from seed growing in #MyGreenhouse I love that the back of the petals are also blue.💙 #Gardening #Flowers #Plants #Daisies #FlowerReport #GardeningFeed #BloomScrolling

Legend says the clever fox sought help from mischievous fairies to move more silently. They crafted a special flower, its soft blooms perfect for slipping onto his paws, muffling his steps. These enchanted flowers became known as foxgloves! #FairytaleTuesday

Pollination in Aloe (& kin) is typically by sunbirds perching on the inflorescences foraging for nectar. #Asphodelaceae 1. Malachite Sunbird (Nectarinia famosa), Bernard Dupont CCBYSA2 2. Scarlet-chested Sunbird (Chalcomitra senegalensis), Joris Komen CCBYSA2 #botany 🌾🧪🌱 #birdsky

Here is a sassy #MagentaMonday from #MyGreenhouse In Autumn I walked around potting up flower seedling volunteers and this #Petunia is one of them. Now it’s patiently waiting for spring 😆🙌 #Gardening #Flowers #Plants #GardeningFeed #GYO #FlowerReport

For #SixOnSaturday here's a flashback to mid-December in beautiful #SantaBarbara #California. So many beautiful #Flowers were still in bloom in the days before Christmas, it felt like we were visiting summer. 🌱 #FlowerReport #Gardening #BloomScrolling

Plant alphabet day 9: I is for Isochilus, a genus of miniature orchids with stems like tiny bamboo. This one was labeled I. carnosiflorus, a species from central America. 🌱 🌴

#SundayYellow is my lemon drop #Abutilon starting to bloom in #MyGreenhouse after a Autumn cutback 💛🍋 #Gardening #Flowers #GardeningFeed #Plants #FlowerReport #BloomScrolling

In the language of flowers, cosmos flowers symbolise joy in life, love, and harmony. The tiny golden florets at their heart form a radiant sunburst of stars that glow with warmth and light, drawing in bees, butterflies, and other pollinators to feed on them. #FolkloreSunday

New #Taro or #colocasia esculenta shoots. My sister-in-law brought me some rhizomes from Reunion Island in December and I quickly started them in my living room. Here they are today! 😀🌱

Frozen #ferns from my garden this morning. -1°C ❄️ 🌱

The sun shone yesterday and I spent some time in my tiny garden! Today though is back to gloomy grey. Oh well, Spring is on the way. Here is my #sixonSaturday. 🌱

Salvia farinacea, or Mealycup Sage, was introduced to the garden trade in 1847 ànd now is sold as an annual in garden centers worldwide. It is only native to the south-central plains and Mexico, but there are other native salvias for almost every state. #SixonSaturday #nativeplants 🌱

#Canna Cleopatra leaf showing nice colors! 🌱

Wall-top sapling.

Plant alphabet day 8 H is for Hippeastrum aulicum, a large amaryllid from southern Brazil and Paraguay. This is a seedling, from parents originating in São Paulo State, flowering three years after germination. The bulbs are epiphytic and grow exposed at the surface of very open potting mix. 🌱 🌴

A cold winds but spring flowers are coming along. Here's a short read and six photos from my garden this week n20gardener.com/2025/02/15/s... #sixonsatruday 🌱 #gardening

#SixOnSaturday has so many beautiful #Flowers blooming this week. Not many sunny days but just enough🌞more rain starting tomorrow💦with freezing temperatures later next week❄️ #GardeningFeed #FlowerReport #February #Plants #Gardening #SpringFlowers #BloomScrolling

In today's #SixOnSaturday ... a Viola, a Hellebore, Crocuses, a rusty amphibian, a Rose cutting and new shoots 🌱 onemanandhisgardentrowel.wordpress.com/2025/02/15/s...

Violas are the final birth flower for the month of February. This genus includes the dainty violets that grow wild in our hedgerows, and the pretty little viola and pansy “faces” that brighten up our garden planters in late-winter. They symbolise friendship, love and remembrance.

#sixonsaturday 15-02-25 : birch branches, rain gauge, schefflera rhododendrifolia, dicksonia, cyclamen leaves and broad beans. fredgardenerblog2.wordpress.com/2025/02/15/s... 🌱

This is the heart of a Blue whale. Weighing in excess of 1,300 lbs (±600 kg), it is the size of a small car. The gigantic heart beats 8-10 times per minute, and each heartbeat can be heard from over 2 miles (3.2 km) away. Credit: Royal Ontario Museum

“Love is the blossom where there blows Every thing that lives or grows.” - from ‘The Wooing Song’ by Giles Fletcher (1548-1611), a poem about the powerful nature of love. Nature’s gifts, heart-shaped leaves, flowers, petals and buds, sharing their love with you on #ValentinesDay

#ValentinesDay is also #FlowersOnFriday and #PinkFriday this is a #Camellia I grew from a cutting. It’s my favorite but please don’t tell the others 😂🤫💘 #GardeningFeed #Flowers #Gardening #FlowerReport #Plants
