In 2002, after the success of Pitch Black, writer/director David Twohy filmed the WWII horror BELOW. Due to Twohy’s refusal to edit it for a PG-13 rating, it never got a UK theatrical release. Now, 20 years later, we will be hosting its UK theatrical premiere! www.forbiddenworldsfilmfestival.co.uk

Come along! It’s as much about the Bristol film community and rich cinematic history of the city as it is about the reincarnation of the IMAX 🎥 🥰

We prefer to describe it as 'It’s James Earl Jones vs. an ancient Greek sea monster!'

Press accreditation will close on 25 April so make sure to apply now to cover Bristol's biggest genre film festival!

We can relate. www.forbiddenworldsfilmfestival.co.uk

Agreed.

Bought ticket to go see Aliens: Director’s Cut on the big screen with @galeannehurd.bsky.social introducing. @fwfilmfestival.bsky.social putting on a great genre film fest in Bristol.

I am Here. For. This.

Yes! Purchased my Full Festival Pass for this incredible event. @fwfilmfestival.bsky.social can't wait. I'll be there as a local cinephile to enjoy some vintage genre cinema but also provide coverage for @thecinebijou.bsky.social - Happy Days. #supportindiefilm

Awww yeah! AMSTERDAMNED 2! youtu.be/6uXT5a8OCUs?...

Warner Bros and Kodak released a 10+ minute video of Ryan Coogler explaining how he shot Sinners on film and how people can see it in different formats in theaters. This is some of the best film promo I’ve seen in years. youtu.be/78Ru62uFM0s?...

Or... or... come see it on Bristol Megascreen on 31 May introduced by legendary producer @galeannehurd.bsky.social AND the man that literally wrote the book on Tremors - @jonmelville.bsky.social! www.forbiddenworldsfilmfestival.co.uk

Gutted to not be able to go, BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS on the big screen must be amazing (also needs a 4K UHD release)

I think I'm going to have to go for The Whale God screening.

And you can watch it on Bristol Megascreen followed by a Q&A with Nicholas Rowe and Sophie Rowe in Bristol on 1 June! THE GAME IS A-FOOT! www.forbiddenworldsfilmfestival.co.uk

My first post on Bluesky is a happy one: join me at the UK's Forbidden Worlds Film Festival, where I'll be talking all things Roger Corman with Gale Anne Hurd, and presenting a 'Guide to Jawsploitation'. (Apparently they'll be showing some movies, too.) www.forbiddenworldsfilmfestival.co.uk

I'm really looking forward to seeing Jim's cut of ALIENS again on the big screen!

The trailer for Forbidden Worlds Film Festival 2025 is here! Tickets for ALL screenings are now on sale! 🎬 Trailer by Arthur Cauty 🔉Voiceover by Ken Marsigliavo www.forbiddenworldsfilmfestival.co.uk

RIP Jean Marsh (1935-2025). So versatile and distinctive.

Jean Marsh is one of those actors where when you look on social media right now there's ten different people remembering ten different roles, including whichever one of her three Doctor Who stories you're most fond of. Battlefield was one of my first Classic stories, so I'm going for that.

Farewell Jean Marsh, a great actor who, among many other achievements, was the go-to in twentieth century Doctor Who for playing a woman with broken love for her brother.

Farewell to one of the great villainess of our childhoods - the irreplaceable Jean Marsh.

Brissol and film? What’s not to love?

Get your @fwfilmfestival.bsky.social festival pass now and come see me introduce the first ever UK screening of Daiei’s THE WHALE GOD, among plenty more big screen treats! 🐳 www.forbiddenworldsfilmfestival.co.uk
