It was nearly 30 years ago that we planted this pink dogwood. At the time we weren’t thinking about how large it would become or that it would keep the nosy neighbor across the street from peering into our dining room. Privacy until October. 🌱🌳

My neighbor’s woods are full of invasives-bittersweet, burning bush, periwinkle-but every now and then there’s a little hidden treasure.🌱

Sitting under a bank of TVs at the gym, I recall my mother saying daytime TV was just moron shows and my late husband calling it entertainment for invalids. I think if I were sick, I would order some books. Or sleep. Or listen to the water music suite and daydream, which is what I do at the gym

This is totally nuts. Funny, and a totally nuts and embarrassing, sort of way.

😢

I wish I had seen these before they were removed. I love maps.

And they need to be told that, over and over, because they are pretty much clueless

We're excited to be selected as #ETOP Change Champions! Stop by our workshop and learn how to step aside (hard for teachers, I know as a control freak myself) and let students, well, figure things out. Can your team design an effective waveguide for a methane sensor? 🧪💡

I am happy to see @spie.org put out this call to action for advocacy in support of federal science funding If you are American, please write to your legislators to encourage them to support the science/research enterprise. You can use the form at the SPIE link below, or write or call directly 🧪💡

Trump’s plan to end the Energy Star program is a blow to American families and businesses everywhere. This program has saved $500 billion in energy costs over the past 30 years. Energy efficiency isn’t just an environmental solution—it’s an economic one. www.washingtonpost.com/climate-envi...

Are you a graduate student in a climate-related field whose research/work/livelihood has been or may be impacted by Trump admin cuts? The @thebulletin.org has a reporter working on a story about this and would love to hear from you. Email me [email protected] and I can put you in touch.

“Autism diagnoses have increased significantly since the 1960s, when only 1 in 10,000 children were diagnosed. However, health officials attribute the rise to improved recognition of cases through screening and more accurate diagnoses.” It was “intellectual disability in the 60s.”

“the Trump administration based its decision to make cuts on leases near expiration, not scientific reasoning.”

What’s next, reopening Fort Ticonderoga to guard against Canadians?
