Cometh the hour, cometh the man.

Just saw Garth Ennis's introduction to Preacher on Reddit, and it provided me with a little reminder of why, despite it being an extremely well crafted comic that I once loved, I'm in no hurry to revisit it any time soon. www.reddit.com/r/DCcomics/s...

Mark Waid and Skylar Patridge explore the early days of the Boy of Steel in ACTION COMICS

Struggling with cognitive dissonance caused by my dread of Amazon making everybody sick of James Bond with a bunch of pointless spin-offs & my desire to see Charlie Higson's Young Bond books turned into a TV series.

I have a GREAT one of these, but you will have to come with me on a journey as I explain. When I was a kid, I was creeped out by the song Mr Moonlight, as covered by the Beatles, and generally considered one of the worst things they ever recorded.

Sure, Google's data centers consume tens of billions of litres of water yearly and emit more carbon dioxide than many nations, but on the other hand, you can look up Uranus and AI will show you a picture of Neptune. Never in the history of humanity, have we reached such speeds in making mistakes

I bet James Gunn doesn't get added to that sodding "Snyder Cult" blocklist that I'm apparently on.

Just popped on Facebook & a good 40% of my feed now seems to be posts from pages I don't follow doing that tired old Twitter joke of sharing a photo of one celebrity while accompanying it with a short bio of another celebrity who looks slightly like them.

Can't wait for James Bond to return in the form of a TV series that will be interrupted with ads, despite the fact that I'm paying for it, and then cancelled after two seasons.

Thoughts on Marvel's The Avengers (2012) up now on Patreon. TLDR: It's amazing how a game-changer can be taken for granted after other things built up on it so much. www.patreon.com/posts/mcu-cu...

Full changes to The Comics Cube on my Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/122686... The post is free, but here's the TLDR. Also please subscribe to my Patreon, it's cheap and you get to see me ramble.

Awesome story. ❤️❤️❤️YOKO❤️❤️❤️

Just learned that Lead Belly did the theme from Wizbit. m.youtube.com/watch?v=EdgE...

Just watched the finale of Superman & Lois.

There's a guy on here who defines himself as a DC Comics expert (and I'm sure he is) but he makes me chuckle whenever he pops up on my timeline cos I quite innocently pointed out a DC fact he got wrong once & he got a bit pissy with me about it.

Why doesn’t Bruce Wayne use his money to stop crime? Why doesn’t James Bond spend more time analysing data? Why aren’t stories more boring?

Say what you like about the NHS, but I never want to live under a healthcare system that involves companies that employ teams of people dedicated to finding ways of not paying to keep people alive & healthy.

One of the many things I enjoy about Superman & Lois is how they've interpreted Lex Luthor as the American equivalent of Phil Mitchell.

Here’s some I prepared earlier

Show me two people with insane beef.

Two artists, one catastrophic war … Joe Sacco and Art Spiegelman on Israel-Gaza and the ceasefire – cartoon

I was browsing comics Reddit & it's full of fans calling for their favourite superhero to get married & have a family, & achieve true happiness, & it's like, mate, you're asking for a happy ending from mainstream superhero comics, the one story format that can't & won't ever give you an ending.

Instead of my usual "cheers" to the driver as I got off the bus this morning, for some reason, my brain decided I needed to say "hi" to him in a breathy whisper. Just off to encase myself in concrete and dump myself in the sea.

I really, really vibe with this review. What isn't necessarily the film's fault is that while the tack it takes is admirable in many ways it just is not up to the horror of our historical moment and has landed in a time that makes an absolute mockery of liberal good intentions.

My ★★ review of Brannigan on Letterboxd boxd.it/8R2ow1

1) Open up image 2) Search around the middle 3) Find the small, bright dot just left of centre 4) Congratulations! You've found the Curiosity rover on Mars, imaged from orbit.
