Can anyone help here?

There’s nothing like being called Penelope and being alone in the house and having this pop up on your TL…

#AmWriting Managed to get 1000 words written today, which is very good for me. My favourite Mandy (main character) quote of today: “Me, nice? Hardly! Don’t say that to Gordon; he’d have a conniption! Actually, maybe *do* say that to Gordon; he’d have a conniption." #Writing

Have recently come across this fabulous archive of “Traditions and Hearthside Stories of West Cornwall” and am reading my way through tales set in local places with great glee (even if he’s very careful to assure that the improper bits are cut out!) archive.org/details/trad...

I’m always going to quote post something asking about what has brought joy! This is my happy place, and I will never miss an opportunity to spread more happiness. I left the house today (rare with my illnesses, even if I was only going to physio!) and I love where I live. #Cornwall #TinyJoys

Hi #WeeknightWriters - I’m Penelope Friday, currently trying to force my heroine Mandy to cooperate with me in writing my modern romantic-comedy, “Fat, Frumpy, and Forty” which is one of the most fun things I’ve written but health issues mean it’s also the slowest!

Recommend me your favourite lesbian space pirates book (preferably written by someone else so we’re uplifting each other) so I can name drop it in the novel I’m writing and hopefully someone will think, “ooh, that sounds like a cool concept” and find it. #WritersLift & also #WritersResearch Pls RT

Went to Newlyn today and on a little drive afterwards, happened to see a lifeboat. I’ve never had an opportunity to take a picture of one before, so I had a go, though it tried to escape me! #Cornwall #CornwallPhotos #TinyJoys

This.

This is amazing. One day, when I have money, I will buy someone a book. I love this idea of sharing books around (especially queer books in the current climate).

Beautiful blackbirds. I love birdwatching, but the bird I see most often is the herring gull which perches on the skylight just above. Herring gulls, bless them, are one of the least exciting birds I know.

This is brilliant! I love it.

Writing going slowly but well on my latest novel, “Fat, Frumpy, and Forty” which is based on a novella I wrote for Ellora’s Cave back in the day, but is now getting fleshed out and given lots more LGBTQ+ representation, though unusually the main pairing is het (wtf?!).

Today’s #CatPicture isn’t even of my cat, but my sister’s cat Jasper is cute enough to be an internet star. #CatsOfBluesky

Good news story, hopefully still going strong. Acknowledgements to ultrafacts on tumblr, which is where I nabbed this from (I did then check Wikipedia and an article to make sure it was accurate).

This is important, and it negates some of the arguments about how we’re ruining wildlife by using renewables. Apparently it’s good short term as well as long term for them, too.

One thing to remember is, even if you *still* can’t do people in real life, that doesn’t mean you can’t write about them well. But also, there are so many different people out there, there’s no doubt a lot of folk who were also called weirdos just waiting for a book which represents them.

Have a #CatPicture to brighten up your day. This is my Zula, who is a Serengeti girlie and very shy, but extremely affectionate when she knows you. My son says she’s the cattish embodiment of me - I was going to add, “but at least I can use a cat flap” except obviously I can’t, being a tad large!

I need a picture with me and all of my nieces and nephews so I can put it up and have a picture of a Pen surrounded by nibs.

Just a picture of waves breaking in #Cornwall. Peaceful, yet still showing something of the bite that nature has.
