Perhaps it's the times we are living in, or S.A.D. but I feel depressed at what appears to be the erosion and questioning of our fundamental rights and the re-emergance of the Right.

The struggle to undo the tragic mistakes of the past still continues to this day. What Israel has done is the equivalent of the British government deciding that the way to rid themselves of the Provisional IRA was to raise Belfast and Derry to the ground.

Here in Northern Ireland, we have much history and experience of this ethnic cleansing. Northern Ireland was established as 'a Protestant province for Protestant people.' Catholics were not welcomed and positively discriminated against. Encouraged to leave. Some did. Many ended up in the USA.
