Today, users DoubleS and Knuk make a video chronicling an origin story for Atlantis in Minecraft. Together, they turn a palace build into an underwater ruin on the custom Dadido3 server network. vimeo.com/11282756?tur... #minecraft

Today, user hipjipp uploads a video of their "Dorf hall" in Infdev. Empty save for tall pillars and empty torches, this large chamber is reminiscent of many a dwarven kingdom in fantasy #minecraft

Today, user RealG uploads a video of the latest real life icon to be built in Minecraft: The Taj Mahal. Built with the help of users Curi, Henrz, and "many others" on the Victory Nexus server network in 0.30, the video gives a brief tour of the build. #minecraft

Today, user doomish posts on the Minecraft Forums, calling for the community to be less powertrip-y when it comes to spawn jails (the structures preventing non-trusted players from griefing), after an experience where an admin messed with them before letting them out. #minecraft

Today, TheClassyGamer uploads a video flying around his 0.30 server. This version continues to stay popular as Infdev progresses #minecraft

Today, user ChromeE posts about adding a new ore to the game with the rarity of diamond + the ability to create teleporters and "moveable chests" #minecraft

Today, a roadmap of development to Minecraft's Beta stage is shared. Multiplayer Infdev is the first priority, highly anticipated by the community. After that, Infdev will be made Indev-feature-complete and a level loader will be added to import maps from prior versions. After that: Beta! #minecraft

Today, an update tweaks Infdev's world gen again, and damps down the mob spawning to make nights less overwhelming. Changelog: * World generation optimized * Less cliffs, more plains/hills * Slightly less frequent autosave * Lowered mob spawn rate * Saplings grow into Spooner's big trees

Today, user Eztuzt shares some ideas about endgame content for Minecraft, including a Hell region, a floating island region, and giant, powerful enemies. #minecraft

Today, user Jahturtle makes a thread on the forum for people to share their plans for what to do in Infdev once it finally gets multiplayer. #minecraft

Today, user LightWarriorK makes a post sharing their build back in 0.30. The recreation of Shadowmarch Castle from Tad William's "Shadowmarch" series ranks among the largest and most detailed single builds made in Minecraft so far. www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minec...

Today, at long last, natural mob spawning is added to Infdev. Just like in Indev, passive mobs spawn in the light, and hostile mobs spawn in the dark. Spawn rates are apparently higher than before. With this update, Infdev is 1 step closer to being feature-complete compared to Indev. #minecraft

Today, a minor bugfixing update is released for Infdev. In the last update, placing torches, saplings, roses, or dandelions would crash the game. Also, no more random lag spikes. #minecraft

Today, Infdev gets its first update in April, adding the large trees by Paul Spooner, as well as returning gravel and sand to the world generator. Mobs are not readded just yet - a bit more debugging is still needed for them to work. User brisby169 shows what the new terrain looks like: #minecraft

Today, user fourwind engages in a bit of creative writing about Minecraft in a future state, where dragons roam the skies. Dragons have been mentioned in the development log, but the game needs quite a bit more work before it's ready for them. #minecraft

Today, user Chudooder uploads a video of google searches relevant to surviving in Minecraft. Unfortunately, there aren't many relevant hits. Someone should make a tutorial or two! #minecraft

Today, user MrBalrog uploads a recreation of Level 1-1 from Super Mario Bros, in all its 2D glory. More than static pixel art, this video shows the level from "Mario's" perspective, with the player jumping and breaking blocks like in the game. #minecraft

Today, user TheWarlemming uploads a video of their Indev world, complete with a wheat farm, sword pixel art, and castle. #minecraft

Today, after a brief pause, development is resuming on Infdev, with the addition of Paul Spooner's big trees script. A far cry from the samey oaks dotting the world, Spooner has created a mod for huge trees with branches and roots, which is now getting incorporated into the game itself. #minecraft

Today, user Zuriki uploads a video showcasing a bug in Classic that allows players to move in complete unison, overlapping each other.

Today, an error on the website causing an unneeded security warning is fixed. The latest update to Java screwed with how Minecraft did .jar certificate signing, which caused the bug. #minecraft

Today, user doomish posts a call for songs that go well with Minecraft. Oddly enough, Minecraft's actual music doesn't come up in the thread. This may have something to do with said music currently not being in Infdev. #minecraft

Today, user ShnitzelKiller posts an easy-to-use Blender rig on the Minecraft Forum, allowing others to animate Minecraft players in the program. #minecraft

Today, user puffsters 269 makes 2 mockups for crafting recipes. The first is a spear that can be used as a melee weapon or thrown, the second is a fishing rod.

Today, user Mrwormy makes a post about functions some currently unobtainable decoration blocks could have, as well as proposing concrete - made from sand and gravel. Another user chimes in, proposing including water in the recipe and giving it time to set. #minecraft

Today, the development of Minecraft takes another dramatic turn. Forget infinite 3D worlds, welcome to infinite 4D worlds! . . . April Fools! Despite a joke post to the devlog suggesting the above, there's no change in Minecraft today. User Ren does upload a neat freefall video, though: #minecraft

Today, user StorM uploads a video exploring various servers on Minecraft Classic, plus a bit of Infdev at the end. Most people who have played Minecraft up to this point have played only Classic, mainly on account of it being free. #minecraft

Today, two new updates are released, simply patching up bugs and reverting the smelting change. Changelog: * Smelting time back to 8 seconds per item, not 4 #minecraft

Today, 2 days after the defunct Indev options were removed, user slamoid makes a post on the Minecraft forums speculating on their return, later in Infdev's development. www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minec... #minecraft

With the latest Infdev version, users can again play the latest version of Minecraft as a survival game. User Malikat is one of those players, hosting a livestream at livestream.com #minecraft

Today, Infdev gets significantly "gamier" with the readdition of level saving, and cool new world generation

Today, a new and improved level generator is being developed for Infdev. It tends to generate far more mountainous terrain than seen before, and even to "create floating chunks of terrain every now and then", however, this makes for a pretty nice effect. #minecraft

Today, caves are returned to Minecraft in the latest update to Infdev, giving players something to mine in again. The code still needs a hefty dose of optimization, then onto world saving and mob spawning #minecraft

Today, user gaaraxebeard makes a poll on the Minecraft Forum for most common cause of death. Skeletons win a plurality, with fall damage and creepers behind. According to the discussion in the thread, pigs and sheep are surprisingly dangerous, pushing players into harms way #minecraft

Today, user Tons0phun makes a post on the Minecraft Forum laying out the case for adding guns - that is, one particular old gun - to Minecraft. The thread becomes the official thread for this controversial and much-discussed topic. www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minec... #minecraft

Today, C418, the composer and sound designer for Minecraft, releases "circle". Composed in 2008, it was made for a game made by a friend of C418, TIGSource user Giuseppe "eclipse" Navarria. The game was never released, but it focused on growing planets and looked similar to the album art below.

Today, Infdev gets a minor update fixing a few bugs, but no content is readded. In other news, user Kinjry takes advantage of the placeholder mobspawning mechanic to throw a rave with a bunch of pigs and sheep #minecraft

Today, Infdev gets a bit less barren with the readdition of ores and trees
