There is no “both sides” here. On the one side are crazy people, on the other are virtually all scientists.

Minnesota’s flags will fly at half staff in honor and remembrance of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman. She woke up every morning determined to make Minnesota a better place, and she will be greatly missed.

The duct blaster is in the house! Our house! Today saw a preliminary tightness test ahead of the compliance test—of all-new ducts for a new heat pump. Shorter, tighter, & better insulated duct runs is helping down-size from 3 tons to 2 tons of AC. Thank you @berkeleylab.lbl.gov #EnergyEfficiency

Senior officers of the United States military have an obligation to speak up and be leaders. Where is the Army chief of staff? Will he or others speak truth to the commander in chief and put a stop to the assault on the integrity of his troops? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Statement from Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan on the #ICEraids

"Sending in the National Guard is meant to provoke, not pacify, and his power will only grow if he succeeds in tempting Americans to intemperate reactions that give him the authoritarian opening he’s seeking." Tom Nichols @radiofreetom.bsky.social @theatlantic.com

I know everyone's been breathlessly waiting for what I was going to write about LA. here you go - gifted www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

“Be warned: Trump is expecting resistance. You will not be heroes. You will be the pretext,” writes @radiofreetom.bsky.social:

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

As the federal government conducts chaotic immigration sweeps across the country, the state is deploying additional CHP to maintain safety on Los Angeles highways to keep the peace. It's not their job to assist in federal immigration enforcement.

Firefighters have a proposal for a pilot program with 24/7 staffing, but the district has told them to sit tight for now.

This article captures some of my unease about the hype around AI. Worth a read. www.theatlantic.com/culture/arch...

Excellent little history on energy efficiency improvements that have been made over the decades, 1970 50A, 1999 30A, 2025 20A breakers.

Today ~5 kg of R-22 (AFAIK the original charge) was recovered during the removal of our 1999 AC—making way for a new heat pump. The previous 1970 AC had a 50A breaker. The 3-ton 1999 AC had a 30A breaker for a 20+A load. The new 2-ton unit will have a 20A breaker for a ~14A load. #EnergyEfficiency

6 June 1944. This 54 year old general made the call knowing the potential implication. I can’t imagine the mental & emotional strain. And it’s so very hard to comprehend the sacrifices for a new future that were a result. We cannot waste what happened on that day.

Chris Murphy on Joni Ernst: "I think everybody in that audience knows they're going to die, they would just rather die in old age at 85 or 90 instead of dying at 40. And the reality is that when you lose your healthcare, you are much more at risk of early death."

Trump is selling the White House at a rate of roughly $1 billion a month (!) - the biggest scandal in US history, 10X worse than Watergate This needs a name: Cryptogate This needs a complete guide, which I've written This needs us to demand action My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/trum...

Yes. And doling it out to Ukraine at $25 billion a month would create steady pressure on Putin to get serious as Russia’s sovereign wealth trove slips away.
