a perfect day to check out this doc if you haven’t already

Whaaaaaat the fuck

Well, both major parties are afraid of right wing extremists. There's my both sides framing.

Remember all the assholes in 2003 who insisted that we’d be greeted as liberators and called you anti-American for opposing the war and then changed their minds many years later to pretend like they always opposed the war? They’re doing the same schtick again.

Just saw the ad for "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (2025) which is apparently NOT a remake but a sequel in the same lineage as "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (1997)?!?!?!

Joey Chestnut returning to the Nathan's contest is all the prompting I need to brag that I once entered a sanctioned Major League Eating contest and ate 7.5 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Sure, that was 26.5 behind the winner of that particular event, but I didn't finish last!

This discourse is largely driven by people who don’t actually live in the cities in question and take as a prior that urban politicians, black ones in particular, are stupid and corrupt.

💪

I wrote an insta-reaction to the Rafael Devers trade, but also an argument that most F150 truck owners would be better off with a minivan, AND a bit of Star Wars fanfic.

everyone was pet sounds posting the day brian wilson died for good reason and its been a couple days now but i want to add he was so real for being in the mid-composing some of the most iconic and influential music of his generation and saying yeah sloop john b hangs with this throw that shit on

It's important to remember whenever you talk about a baseball deal being projected as "underwater" is that none of that shit matters, inflation happens, time changes the context. Especially not for a team like the Red Sox that could spend far more than it does and never even notice.

Incredible. Somewhere, Nico is doing the DiCaprio gif

The more I think about this, the more I wonder if they had talks with other teams. Like, wouldn't the Mets be able to give the Red Sox *better* MLB-level pitching and a Tibbs-level prospect? Do we know what the Angels might do if Devers were dangled? (Probably offer Garret Anderson, but still...)

Mookie Betts, Rafael Devers and Chris Sale have netted Vaughn Grissom, Alex Verdugo, Connor Wong, Jeter Downs, Jordan Hicks, and Kyle Harrison. Those trades would have the Red Sox kicked out of a fantasy league.

[Opens up Instagram] Life comes at you fast.

Why I would trade Kyle Harrison: he’s a low slot high spin efficiency starter, like an Andrew Heaney. Very difficult to find secondary pitches that are elite for them, especially if they don’t turn over changeups well. Best is to hope velo stays up, develop many meh secondaries.

My newsletter is going out tomorrow morning to subscribers, but you can read it on the web right now. Rafael Devers LOLOLOLOLOL!!!

Per Passan on TV right now: SF GIANTS get: Rafael Devers, and will pay his entire contract RED SOX get: Kyle Harrison Jordan Hicks James Thibbs III Another prospect Me: If that prospect isn't Eldridge, the Red Sox are wild for this. I've gotta believe they could've gotten a better deal elsewhere.

What a Father's Day for Gerrit Cole. His daddy is going to the NL West.

My chats are going wild on this Devers news. Red Sox fan instantly mad that they've traded the guy they actually signed to the big deal so soon after choosing not to sign Mookie, and as best we can tell for a collection of fine-not-great players.

I don't know why the Red Sox are trading Devers to the Giants, but I'll take it!

Holy fuck The Giants just got Rafael Devers. I feel like I spoke this into existence.

Wearing a Darth Vader tshirt to church on Father's Day, as one does.

Ah, yes, the classic hypothetical complex issue that can be understood with a "3-level summary" read in 2 minutes.

It's always interesting to compare the numbers to the Tea Party protests and the respective coverage of them.

👇 genuinely don’t understand why people are unable to comprehend “don’t get AI to do something for you if you can’t understand whether it has produced the wrong answer”.

I see His Holiness has been stewing on the White Sox losing in extra innings yesterday
