Our dear United States is in danger off turning into a kakistocracy of oligarchs and their MAGAts...

Thousands of U.S. Government Web Pages Have Been Taken Down Since Friday www.nytimes.com/2025/02/02/u...

Hooray! Eric Adams has left the Democratic Party for the party of released cop beaters, sexual predator presidents, and purveyors of the biggest lie. He's now where he belongs.

Reminder that Amazon, Meta, Apple, and Google are each facing federal antitrust lawsuits. They each gave cash hand over fist to Trump’s inaugural fund, which raked in a record $250 million. When I say money in politics corrupts our system, this is what I’m talking about.

Even though I cancelled my subscription to the @washingtonpost.com it runs through August. But I did remove the app, and all email feed subscriptions. So I'm no longer a patron of the once great newspaper; that is now now neutered and oligarch approved. Truly sad.

It is usually about greed, probably the worst sin because it leads to so many others. A few people that can never have enough make it miserable for the rest of US.

This has always been the GOP's strategy: 1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves. 2) Explode the deficit. 3) Demand cuts to Social Security and Medicare. 4) Repeat. Don't let them get away with it.

The stock portfolios of more than two dozen members of Congress outperformed the market in 2024. This isn't due to luck or skill. Lawmakers can use privileged information to trade stocks while they’re supposed to be working for you. Make no mistake, it’s legalized corruption.

President-elect Trump reprised familiar falsehoods in a news conference on Tuesday. Among them were inaccurate claims about the Jan. 6 attack, international affairs, trade and whale deaths. Here’s a fact-check.

I just disabled and deleted both my Facebook and Instagram account. They were almost idle and with Meta/Zuckerberg going over completely to the fascist tech bro side I couldn't bear even being counted as a user anymore. Also deleted the apps from all my smart devices.

Trump’s team claimed that their tax cuts would boost household income by $4,000. But research shows that the lowest paid workers saw no change in earnings. Meanwhile, exec salaries increased sharply. Trump and Republicans want to double down on yet another trickle-down scam.

I intended to type two posts back - "...H1-Bs are a form of monopsony...". Please excuse the swype-o.

The problem with H1-Bs isn't the immigration, as managed immigration for all rungs of our economic ladder is a good thing; but that this talent can't compete on the open market but is effectively indentured to their sponsoring corporation. Thereby distorting wages downward for all US talent.

H1-Bs are a firm of monopsony that is terrible for the future of STEM careers in America where CEOs already make thousands of times more money than the engineers and scientists that create the technology and products that they and their heirs get wealthy on.

Looks like President Musk is going to succeed in keeping native born engineering and scientist salaries down, and his stock option income higher, by re-instituting the expansion of H1-B Visas.

If it wasn't clear before, it's crystal clear now: Elon Musk is the 47th President of the United States. And his presidency is going to be a government of, by, and for the wealthy and big corporations. We break it all down on this week's Coffee Klatch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=spD9...

BREAKING! Americans United criticizes Ryan Walters’ draft Oklahoma social studies curriculum. www.au.org/the-latest/press...

So Elon Musk has endorsed Germany's AfD. I did Nazi that coming. OK, that's a lie. It was obviously where he was going. We can argue whether Trump fully fits the definition of a fascist, but Musk, who increasingly looks like the senior partner, isn't hiding it at all

"The Excrement Show, the Sequel" is just beginning. President Musk, of South Africa, is obsessed with finding ways to lower his, Thiel's, and Bezos' tax rates even further on the backs of ordinary working class Americans -ballooning the debt and sacrificing our infrastructure and quality of life.

The five largest grocers in America reaped over $29 billion in profits according to recent annual reports. They've been charging you more and lining their pockets. Now Trump wants to give them an annual tax cut of nearly $1.7 billion. Hello?

Republicans have used public concern about Social Security’s future solvency as a cynical excuse to demand cuts in benefits. But Social Security could easily pay everything it will owe to everyone for the next 75 years if the cap on income subject to SS taxes were eliminated. Let me explain.

Can anyone say "kleptocracy"? 😞

#DeclassifyTrump or come out and publicly say there is no intelligence that is of a concern. This is critically important given that Trump is about to neuter the FBI.

Psychosis, combined with incompetence and greed, is and will continue to be the trademark of any Trump administration.

The vicious cycle of monopolization: 1) Corporations argue that their growth is just part of the free market. 2) Use their monopoly power to gouge consumers. 3) Take a portion of their profits to make political donations. 4) Lobby against antitrust enforcement. 5) Repeat.

Researchers at the London School of Economics have found that 50 years of tax cuts for the wealthy have not trickled down to the middle class and only served to help the rich get richer. What does Trump have planned for his second term? Another giant tax cut for the wealthy.

Trump's upcoming tariffs are all about special exclusions he, his family, and his already rich cronies can use to get even richer. And all on the backs of the rest of US.
