Brilliant. 10/10. No notes.

Holy Crap. Just straight up looting at this point. Or like was already looting. But just bringing in a semi to haul out the loot faster.

Justice Sotomayor dissenting on birthright citizenship case: "The gamesmanship in this request is apparent and the Government makes no attempt to hide it. Yet, shamefully, this Court plays along. Because I will not be complicit in so grave an attack on our system of law, I dissent."

If the Supreme Court thinks universal injunctions are unconstitutional, to wait until *now* to say that, in this of all cases, with this of all presidents, is a devastating indictment of both its impartiality and its prudence.

Beloit, WI revitalized its waterfront and chose this way to celebrate it: by bringing to life Georges Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte."

Scientific American has published vaccine recommendations for children from birth to age 6 in an easy to read chart Here they are ⬇️ Just in case RFK Jr. makes them go away

Even with everything else going on, I am still fixated on this obscenely terrible and dangerous headline from the Washington Post. Do they really believe that Democrats are looking to be politically targeted, manhandled, handcuffed and arrested or are they sucking up to their billionaire owner?

If you’re zip-tying grandmas protesting losing health care maybe you’re not the good guys in the story?

MUST SEE: Congresswoman Schrier nails conspiracy theorist and unfortunate HHS Secretary, RFK Jr., on the value of vaccines—and it’s glorious. Schrier also happens to be the first pediatrician in Congress.

SCHRIER: Have you ever treated measles? RFK JR: No SCHRIER: Well I have. Let me tell you how miserable these kids is. The great thing is there's a vaccine to prevent it ... they only work if you actually give them

UPDATE: “The man who impersonated ICE to intimidate the employees of a Philly auto repair center — and steal about $1,000 — will face numerous felony and misdemeanor charges…”: www.phillyvoice.com/philly-robbe... Fake ICE agents were inevitable. How can cities be proactive about this?

Not to rain on everyone’s ceasefire-not-ceasefire parade, but that wrecking ball of a big dumb bill is still working its way through the Senate and still launching an assault on women, wages, benefits, and the entire working class

I didn’t have the Supreme Court destroying the authority of federal district courts on my bingo card. But in retrospect that’s perhaps where all this shadow docket decision-making was going all along. Really scary stuff.

A lot of us have this question.

"It's deeper than a critique of journalists. You can say, 'Fine. 'Both sides.' The left is unhappy w/ how the media covers things.' But it’s a systemic problem. Our political institutions are uniquely unable to deal w/ the rise of what is now a far-right authoritarian party" — @mcopelov.bsky.social

In 2022, inspectors described a “cascade of failure” at one foreign factory. The FDA barred it from shipping drugs to the U.S. — then excused more than 20 drugs from the ban, despite risks to consumers.

“‘It was like a natural experiment,’ @jeremyfaust.bsky.social said, adding that he was shocked by the stark disparity in firearm deaths” for states that had tightened vs relaxed gun ownership laws. In states that took a more permissive approach, “You’ve got an epidemic that’s really getting worse”🧪🛟

Most staple food crops are expected to experience substantial production losses due to climate change, even when mitigation measures to limit the impact of climate change are considered, according to a study in Nature. The study finds that only rice might avoid substantial losses. 🧪

Nature reports on the epidemic of chronic kidney disease of unknown cause among outdoor workers in warm climates. It appears that repeated damage from extreme heat over time seems to be a leading factor causing kidneys to fail. #medsky 🧪

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds. He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings. He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights. This is political intimidation.

The Minnesota shooter apparently used data broker websites to find the home addresses of the people he shot and murdered. Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again. Their inaction is deadly.

Too many people underestimate the importance of studying the humanities.

She didn't chase the spotlight—she built coalitions, held the line, and got things done. A true Minnesotan leader. Thank you, Melissa Hortman, for your steady hand and fierce heart. You made this state better. #mnleg

Our brains love the colour gradation in rainbows, maybe due to our ancestors searching for sources of water. Looking at plants helps us recover from stress & looking at something we think is beautiful causes dopamine release. I've posted this photo to alter your brain biochemistry for the better 🌿
