I hope Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has a no-item mode. The mechanics look like they could support skill-based gameplay, and part of the fun of the first two Sonic Riders games is that you rarely see items outside of extra rings and meter (they're still there, just not as prevalent)

Spent an hour in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. Currently my fourth favorite Sonic Racer (under Sonic Transformed, Sonic R, and the OG Riders). When I tried to Gravity Control onto the ceiling in Crimson Crater and it failed, my opinion solidified. AMAZING game concept, DESPERATELY needs a sequel.
