Great to see a pub reopened and refurbished. The Highland, Leeds is now The Highland Laddie - 4 cask beers on the bar and convenient stop off before / after visiting Kirkstall Brewery (night photo from 2023). We received a very friendly welcome

Perfect weather for a wander around Wetherby visiting the retrieved Scapa Flow anchor memorial to the Naval 'land ship' HMS Ceres (where dad was stationed for a while) before a pint at The superb Albion, Clifford. Sirencraft Brew Mesmerist refreshing, subtle fruits and not too strong

Given the good weather it'd be rude not to jump off a train passing through Sheffield for a refreshing summer beer at The Sheaf View, Heeley. Zapato brewery River Stout typically excellent. Roasty with a subtle smokiness.

Looks like my station bike has had a lucky escape. Tagged for removal after the 26th. To be fair it did look abandoned after a year out with a fractured femur. Took the frame to Re-cycle York and the wheels will transfer to my new bike. Key broke off in one of the locks AFTER i'd unlocked it luckily

A brace of excellent beers a stones throw from city station before the train home. Verdant Adams ESB. A malty well hopped bitter with toffee notes at Tapped and Thornbridge Burning Sky W Coast IPA, really rounded with orange notes (from the Unions) at Bankers Cat

'Coals to Newcastle' jokes the barman (who's from the Potteries) in The Cross Keys, Knaresborough: Titanic / Ossett Pipeline is v floral and sessionable at 4.7%. Robbie Williams playing in the background for further cultural immersion!
