New season. Same mindset. Same goal. πŸ’ͺ @ouwfc.bsky.social

How much, Coventry? How much? 😐 Their pricing is otherwise very fair but an £8 booking fee is ridiculous.

Somewhere there's a man in questionable trousers taking credit for setting Sunderland on the path to the Premier League. Guaranteed. πŸ˜…

I used to love going to the Abbey as a kid. Now it best resembles a pond for most of the year.

Timeless. 🀩

A return to form for both Marvel and the Final Destination franchise in the same month?

Grealish has more humility and grace in his pinky finger than a thousand Pep Guardiolas.

Football is unrivalled. For better or worse, nothing else comes close. Nothing.

And this is why I'll never beat my backlog.

We were demoted from WSL 2. We could one day be promoted back to WSL 2. Championship years:

Reverting back to WSL 2 makes no sense. A huge misstep. WPLL is fast gaining a reputation for terrible ideas, which, as the people responsible for the administration of the elite game, doesn't bode well for the future of women's football in this country. Sort it out. "Fans." πŸ€₯

When "bring your child to work day" goes wrong.

I still can't bring myself to delete last season's from my Google Wallet until I've received replacements for next season. Even though they're useless and I use a physical card anyway. 🫣

Obligatory '#OUFC Season Ticket renewed' post. Just waiting for @ouwfc.bsky.social Season Tickets and next season's kits to drop and I'll be ready for 2025-26. #MyClub πŸ’›πŸ’™

Taome Oliver has now also confirmed her departure from #OUWFC. More expected to come.

Zoe Creaney and Jaime Gotch have both confirmed their departures from #OUWFC. More expected to follow. Thanks and best wishes to everyone leaving the club, whatever the future holds. #OnceAYellow πŸ’›πŸ‘Š

Pompey survive! This is excellent news for our title aspirations next season as the division is considerably weaker without Pompey. It's also encouraging to see a promoted team successfully consolidate; the difference between the second and third tiers is huge. That's our blueprint.

An excellent, resilient @ouwfc.bsky.social team performance to round off a weekend of excellent Oxford United performances. Until next season, six point weekends, I'll miss you. 😍

New favourite double-feature of 2025: The Sinner Penguins. The Penguin Lessons is brimming with heart, and Sinners is arguably the best movie of the year so far. πŸ“ #Cineworld | 🎬 #FilmSky

Little Oxford, written off since day 0, are still in the Championship against the odds. 😏

WE ARE STAYING UP, SAY WE ARE STAYING UP! #OUFC #COYY πŸ’›πŸ’™

I genuinely believe we'll avoid relegation, albeit barely. And yet...

A table that I'm pleased we're at the bottom of: Β£63m paid in agents' fees is ridiculous.

A permanent home of our own will make that more achievable, but it's not the be-all and end-all. There are teams in the WC who do not play at their home stadium. It all boils down to pound amounts, which will enable the club to lay the foundations for professionalisation.

Nine (of eleven) Women's Championship clubs are full-time, with that number highly likely to increase next season. If the owners aspire to once again become an established team in the second tier, we must invest at a level that supports that vision. We're currently worlds away.

Not sure what I did wrong in a past life to land on the darkest timeline in this one, but the race to the bottom is relentless. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜

Herculean effort from everyone in that stadium today. The players, coaching staff, and fans were all absolutely immense. Easy way? Nah. We do things the Oxford way. So proud. #OUFC πŸ’›πŸ’™

To this day, it bothers me. Am I the only one? 😱

The largest walk-in freezer on Earth. Expectation vs. Reality.

If Pompey are relegated from the Women's Championship, this will not affect #OUWFC. If, however, they survive the drop, the team who finishes in 11th-place in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division this season will be given a reprieve.

Presented without comment:

I want to remain optimistic β€” which was much easier to do when the teams below us were also struggling for results β€” but now they are picking up points while we continue faltering. It's becoming challenging, to say the least. Deflated.

If we do go down, and I really hope we don't, but if we do, fans elsewhere will point at the lack of loyalty shown to Buckingham and laugh that we've been relegated, even after abruptly sacking and replacing the man who guided us to the Championship.

Chronic tinnitus, combined with pre-match nerves ahead of this evening's match β€” not helped by the last night's results β€” makes for a 'noisy' day. πŸ™ƒ C'mon Oxford, do a win. We desperately need one. πŸ€žπŸ’›

The manager talked about our usual standards after yesterday's loss but our record against the top six this season is P8 W2 D1 L5. P10 W2 D2 L6 if you extend it to the top seven. Nine of our 11 wins have come against teams in 8th place and below. Ultimately, we are where we deserve to be.

It is no longer possible to improve upon our 2023-24 results, and we must win our remaining three games to match last season's playing record. Our lowest FAWNL points tally was 41 in our debut season, where we experienced vast challenges as a club following demotion from Tier 2.

Sums up the attitudes at the greedier top levels of the game perfectly. Women’s and men’s game alike. It’s not about growing the sport it is about being in control and retaining power to ensure that as money comes into the wider game your plate is always fuller and will always be so.

Standard women's football governance, with rules being shaped to benefit the elite at the expense of everyone else. Potentially this and B teams? Sporting integrity is dead. The FA and WPLL are two cheeks of the same ass, and both full of s**te. www.theguardian.com/football/202...
