I've been thinking about this attached IG story all week. I'm an agressive pedestrian, well aware of being safe and apt to take my right of way on roads. But just last month I was nearly hit by a car. And this month, reminded again that the penalty for killing a person with a car is tiny.

This "vehicle-pedestrian collision" was in fact not one but two hit and run drivers who struck a pedestrian crossing legally, and drove off. She was left with serious injuries. First was a Subaru, believed to be driven by a white woman.
