@qagggy.bsky.social a great community board resolution.

@qagggy.bsky.social Your right! We are on the same page. I was fixated on the street scene that you said was confusing - which advised sharing the street. The better solution is primary.

@qagggy.bsky.social The bluesky post has a photo of signage that should never be used. Share the Street. No fucking way. The sign should read "Local Access Only, bikes and pedestrians will take the lane". End of story. NO sharing! I don't want to share the road with a heavy steel box that can […]

It is very interesting to see that this post on #standupforscience is gaining much more traction here on Mastodon (where there is no algorithm, just people boosting) than over on LinkedIn (where there is an algorithm). Hard to prove, but I would guess Microsoft decides to downrank any post that […]

this, at least, is clear: "Trump is genuinely bored of the war. He doesn’t understand it. He doesn’t know why it started. He doesn’t know how to stop it. He wants to change the channel and watch something else." www.theatlantic.com/internationa...

"Ultimately, according to a Jan. 24 Heritage Foundation report, the think tank would like to see Congress “prohibit — by statute — the use of the social cost of carbon in policymaking,” so that no future administration has the option to use it again." […]

Unsurprisingly: "The order stems directly from language in the Heritage Foundation’s #Project2025 policy playbook. Having no social cost of carbon measure in essence asserts that there is no detrimental cost that comes with a warming planet, and that ultimately lowers the burden — or increases […]

This stretch of 6th Ave has had a bike lane in some form since 1978 and part of this is adjacent to CB4.
comment in response to post
A key prompt for this project is this stretch of 6th still has mixing zones, and some safety issues as a result. Additionally there are 3 vehicle lanes north and south of this stretch - DOT wants to make that consistent while continuing to make space for higher demand for cycling

It sounds like DOT is ready to hit the ground running in "spring" - They avoided re-marking some streets after resurfacing in 2024 (gasp!) in anticipation of this change. (my question - why didn't it happen last year then?)
comment in response to post
The actual change is a lane removal - proposed lane vehicle + bike lane expansions. The cement pedestrian island placement will stay - bike lane grows to 10' and parking lane shifts out. From 31st to 35th only change is east curb side use - but lots of comments on the bike lane pinch point here.

A thing I'm really happy to see - no more mixing zones, and a new split phase at 29th St due to increased volume of vehicles turning. DOT thinks that is justified here (it should be everywhere!) Discussion of signal timing called for DOT to add green wave (they want to eval 3rd ave "pilot" still)

I’m getting closer to a v2 of my personal ranking order, but I don’t foresee any changes to the list itself.

I use the 311 app constantly; I also use the web app with some custom programming to assist in filing TLC reports. I would love the iOS mobile app to support shortcuts/automation.

@JessTheUnstill Thinking about Zohran Mamdani running for NYC Mayor and the super liberal Three Park Democrats. This applies so well.

@jehiah.cz I found some code someone suggests for doing this but nothing that's part of Android. What I'm doing in the interim is creating a Google User called Autofill phrases and putting in there all the phrases I would autofill so I can just copy into the clipboard in advance in prep for a […]

@jehiah.cz I tend to file many 311 app complaints at two locations where the 311 app gps does not work or works poorly. i would love to autofill the addresses. I use an android phone. Could you recommend a method?

@jehiah.cz Do you ever use the 311 app or send requests for added functionality on the 311 app?

@jehiah.cz How do you report these?
