Using the power and outreach of this account to ask a specific question in regards to the FINAL DESTINATION films (specifically FINAL DESTINATION 3). Question follows in the below thread so there's enough room:

God knows I hate doing these, but I have no other option. After being out of work for 5 months, I accepted a job offer that was eliminated 2 weeks in. Unfortunately the part-time hours I’ve picked up were not enough to cover my full rent this month. Please reshare if you can. gofund.me/be32e839

Any website that posts written work would be better off with Pete on their editorial staff.

Polygon was by far the biggest site that supported A4E and our little action community, particularly our great friend @petevolk.bsky.social. This is absolutely devastating and yet another example of this being the worst timeline. Hire every single person who just got hit.

Mark my words: With the success of SINNERS you will see the greenlight of a Southern Gothic horror project that at the very least will have a trailer backed up by Ethel Cain's music within the next few years. Cannot begin to express how much of a good idea this is. Do it.

The Box Office Podcast Episode 65 - ‘Sinners’ Weekend II: ‘Revenge’ of the ‘Accountant’ (Plus the 2025 Summer Movie Preview with special guest star... @ryanscottwrites.bsky.social (Kermit Flail)!!

ICYMI The Man who can conjure up Box Office stats from the top of his head, @scottmendelson.bsky.social, joins The Boys for their annual Summer Box Office predictions! But wait, theres more! SINNERS, HAVOC, THE ACCOUNTANT 2, and just a touch of PREDATOR for your favorite movie gumbo.

*TFW you find out a lot of people you know sing 'Will Ye Go, Lassie You Go' to their kids*

I'm not sure what to think about how much that Safdie/The Rock movie THE SMASHING MACHINE seems to just re-enact John Hyams' excellent 2002 documentary of the same name. Check that one out - it helped get him the gig on UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: REGENERATION and therefore made the world a better place.

One thing I love in action movies is when there's a hench-person who doesn't even have a name or dialogue but has a memorable look and kicks ass so you get excited every time they show up. (Watching HAVOC again.)

Put me in the Academy. I'll watch those movies

Pretty big nerd (Max) imo

The only Crockett and Tubbs you need 😤

If you dug Sinners - and you should have - let me make a strong recommendation for Harlem Unbound, Chris Spivey's excellent Cthulhu sourcebook dealing with Lovecraftian horror during the Harlem Renaissance.

Yautja

When you get to our HAVOC talk, I want you to know that since yesterday the film remains 'Fine' (neither good or bad), but has risen in my estimation ever so slightly. It's worth the watch, and a recommendation from The Boys all around. On to KILLER OF KILLERS.

Watch the all-time action classics that inspired Netflix’s Havoc

I love action movies where the hero has a normal-ass job and uses those skills to solve the movie's problems. @wheelscritic.bsky.social has 20 examples where the hero "punches a clock as often as they punch bad guys," ranked by how important their job is to the movie www.polygon.com/action/55176...

Happy The Accountant 2 szn www.polygon.com/action/55176...

This is not my image but seeing them all lined up like this implies that all the predators we have seen leading up to “Predator: Badlands” have suffered from the alien equivalent of male pattern baldness.

Here is my latest piece for Polygon. In honor of “The Accountant 2,” I rank 20 films about working class action heroes. But the rank is not by quality, it’s by how much the heroes’ job affects the movie itself. It’s all a bit tongue in cheek but I’m very proud of it.- www.polygon.com/action/55176...

Friends of the show @wheelscritic.bsky.social and @petevolk.bsky.social put together a handy list of Action films and their extraordinary heroes who have the most ordinary of jobs. An inspired list without question (also makes for a great watchlist for the LB crowd) www.polygon.com/action/55176...

I really enjoyed the conversation on Havoc because I thought it might be a case where my thoughts would be widely different but ultimately we are on the same page but some like the page a little more lol

The Boys coming in with a THICK HEAVY CHONKY EPISODE *puts on OutKast’s “Chonkyfire”*

Da boys are back with Scotty talking box office as only he can!! Check it out!!

The Boys (@hibachijustice.bsky.social, Liam, @vycevictus.bsky.social, @odstspartan.bsky.social) are united again as @scottmendelson.bsky.social returns for his annual predictions of the upcoming Summer Box Office season as they talk SINNERS, HAVOC, and more! creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/...

Update: He gave me the recording.

While I wait for the new episode to come down to edit, enjoy me being a nerd in the GC getting shot at.

New CHONK episode incoming. We run the damn gamut.

Havoc My homage to @vycevictus.bsky.social's reviews

THE ACCOUNTANT 2 like DEN OF THIEVES 2: PANTERA I'd watch Affleck and Bernthal trained killer siblings quibble back and forth all day. The ten minutes where it lets them have a heart to heart and reminisce on missed time with one another...

Had Stallone on the brain today, so here's some words on one of my favorite, less discussed, of his, John Flynn's Lock Up. On Stallone's rises and falls and what separates him from the Arnolds and Dolphs. Read it here, a little Friday Freebie if you will: open.substack.com/pub/brandons...

Streaming Sleepers: Samurai VS Ninja Revamps As 24/7 SAMURAI-SHINOBI For FAST Launch On Prime Video Action auteur Koichi Sakamoto's newest release, Shogun's Ninja, just hit the SVOD arena in recent weeks over at the Samurai VS Ninja YouTube channel. To add, REMOW has since rebranded the channel,…

A rewatch of THE ACCOUNTANT once again yields that not only is it still peak TNT Dad-core cinema, but Gavin O'Connor is still one of the best sturdy journeymen directors we have working today. A rare breed. Gives some late game brotherly emotion that hits in all the right places
