17. Trails Through Daybreak 2
Hey another Trails game I think is great, if not as strong as the first because of a weak Act 3. I like all the characters stories continuing, I like all the side quest and the story itself is quite good. Act 3's repetitiveness really let's it down.

16. Captain America: Brave New World
Just sorta okay. The action is cool, the bits with Red Hulk are cool and I like Sam as Cap. I had fun but I don't think it's as good as winter soldier or civil war. I honestly don't have much else to say on, just okay.

15.(R)Super Mario Odyssey
This game is still fantastic nearly 8 years later. Mario is so fun to control in this game and the capture mechanic allows a lot of unique sections. Some moons are a little annoying but this game is so fun and creative that its hardly an issue. Fantastic

14. The Apothecary Diaries Season 1
Another show I've put off finishing. It's very good, Maomao is a great protagonist and learning about the different medicines/other things of the time is interesting. I like the mysteries and payoffs a lot as well. Onto season 2.

13.(R)Chainsawman Vol 15
Getting through manga I've had for a while. I like this volume, the fight against the falling devil is good and Asa's flashbacks help show how bad this world can be. The setup for stuff later is cool too, can see plot points for later being set up.

12.(R)Spy X Family Vol 12
Another good volume, I like how it humanises the handler more and gives a glimpse into her past. The chapters involving the spy and Twilights fights are great and ends on a really cool cliff-hanger. I read weekly so I know what happens but fun nonetheless

11. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
I watched half of this more then a year ago and only now finished lol. Both arcs are really good with Shibuya incident being the highlight. Lots of great fights and story progression, both for plot and characters. It's a good time.

10. Undead Unluck
Another series I've been reading for a while ends😢. I've really enjoyed this, even with the rough start. Andy and Fuuko are great protagonists with a great relationship despite the start. This slowly became a highlight for me each week and the ending was great.

9. Legacy of Kain Defiance
I have mixed feelings here. I like the new combat system even if I would have liked more to it. I also like the story but not as much as SR2. The camera is a big frustration as well. I would have liked to see it built on, especially after the ending.

8. Ender Lilies: Quietus Of The Knights
I liked this, its a good metroidvania that has a moody atmosphere and good music. I don't think it stands out much gameplay-wise but I had more fun the more I abilities I unlocked. Not the best of the genre but fun still, will try the sequel at some point.

7. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
This is a fine port of a good game that is overshadowed by its sequel imo. It's fun but not as much as Tropical Freeze to me. The port is fine, didn't notice many issues outside 1 crash. Bad that the original credits aren't included tho.

6. Mission Yozakura Family
Another series I've been reading for a while ends. I like seeing a series where the main characters are in a relationship and not will they wont they thing. I don't think it stands out as much as other spy manga but it's been a fun ride throughout.

5. Emio The Smiling Man
I think this game is great. The mystery and tension it builds up throughout the game is so unnerving that kept me gripped. I have some issues with the ending feeling rushed with a lot of details left for the epilogue but this is still great regardless.

4. (R)The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Feels funny to post this now with the switch 2 reveal. I enjoyed going back to this, it's fun and this is one of my favourite versions of Zelda as a character. Some annoyances come from the controls and backtracking quests but still fun.

They have the same scope and are different games. I think the only reason FR wasn't sold separately was because Torna can be enjoyed as it's own thing without too much knowledge from 2 while FR I feel really benefits from having played 3 first.

(Continued for last) ...this game. There's a lot of running back and forth between a few different areas. It feels like 2 steps forwards and two steps back. Still good but left with mixed feelings.

3. Legacy Of Kain Soul Reaver 2
This is a weird game to me. I think it's story and characters are great, with some stellar scenes which gripped me. Gameplaywise I think the game is very one note, I didn't like the block puzzles in the first but I don't think the combat is deep enough to carry (cont)

2. Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana
Short but fun game. I enjoyed what was there, combat feels good and the areas are fun to explore. It's a nice little story for what's there. Definitely feels like a game meant to be replayed over and over, might do that. Good game is good.

1. Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
First game of the year and my friend @dupinema.bsky.social got me to play lol. I enjoyed it although hearing how lots of stuff got cut, it makes sense playing this. You can see the gaps in it. I still enjoyed and will play the rest but just thought it was okay.

I'll be honest, kinda glad to have 2024 be over. Had a rough time this year due to various factors. Hoping things will be better this year.

Unicorn Overlord is just a lot of fun. Despite some issues I enjoy the tactics game of the a lot and I really like the characters. It's similar to Fire Emblem but stands out on it's own. Vanillaware is always a interesting studio and this game is no exception.

Just finished this but Nine sols is so good. A very fun metroidvania by its own right with satisfying combat. The story and characters are what stand out the most to me, this cast is great and Yi in particular is a great main character. Highly recommend.

Another Falcom game, Ys X is a lot of fun in general. Exploring is fun and the combat, despite being slower then other Ys titles, is extremely fun. Karja is a fantastic co-star as well, she's a highlight. Only issue is Proud Nordics is coming out so... wait for that lol

Another year of me loving the newest Trails release. Trails through Daybreak is a great time and the new cast of characters introduced is great. Being able to explore Calvard is great and the gameplay changes are fun as well. So good I played it twice this year.

80. (Reread) Spy X Family Vol 11
Trying to get through manga volumes I've had for a while so might see a few books today. Great volume, early chapters are fun but the last one about the hijacking is fun and exciting, with some sweet moments towards the end.

79. Nine Sols
This game is incredible. A fantastic game to play with a great story and cast. Tough as nails at times but super satisfying. It's a dark and interesting story with lots of parts that caught me off guard. One of my favourites of the year, without a doubt.

78. Astro Bot
This game is fantastic. The levels are fun and imaginative, with lots of unique ideas throughout all of which are polished and work well, only one I didn't care for was monkey climbing. The references are fun, especially the level focused ones. 100% it.

77. Tokyo Godfathers
This is a very charming movie. I like how funny the movie can be while still presenting a unfiltered look into homelessness in Japan. The characters are great and everything about it makes me understand why it's considered a classic Christmas movie. Very good

76. The Pathless
I enjoyed it, I think the game visually is amazing with a great art style. The large scale boss fights are great. Exploring is fun although finding all the lightstones is a bit tedious. Music is great too. Just a good short game, not much more to add then that.

75. (Replay) No More Heroes 3
Fun game to revisit. It feels the best in the series gameplay-wise. It is a very memorable game for many reasons. I don't think I like the writing as much as TSA but this game is weird, fun and I'm just glad it exists. It's a Suda 51 game all right.

74. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
I wasn't lying when I said I wanted to play another Ys game. 8 is fantastic: great music, characters and very fun. Dana and her story is a highlight for me. Only issue for me is the raids not being great. Wish I had played this to completion sooner.

Metaphor Refantazio is 100% my game of the year; followed by Trails Through Daybreak, Ys X and Unicorn Overlord. There's a few other I personally find very interesting this year like 1000XRESIST but I wouldn't call them my favourite like I would the other games.

73. Ys X: Nordics
This game was great. I found the combat enjoyable and switching between Adol and Karja on the fly is fun. The fact they really sold me on Adol & Karja's bond despite the former being mostly silent says a lot. Makes me want to jump straight to another Ys game.

72. (Replay) Travis Strike Again: No More Heroes
This an interesting game to go back to. I have mixed feelings gameplay-wise but it's story and writing is great. Especially with how the story relates to Suda 51's works. No game like it and despite it's issues is truly special.

This is about the end of the opinions I had on the other site still. Again not every opinion is the same but I'm shocked at how many of these games are still up there on my list of favs.

2020: I was wondering why there was so little and then it clicked that this was covid time. Wild to look back on (even though it's not fully over even now.) This was also the year where my Trails brain-rot began lol
