We don’t have a car price crisis. We have an AFFORDABLE car price crisis. Perhaps Trump should explore rules requiring automakers to sell at least 15-20% of their cars at affordable prices. Then we’d finally make some progress on this issue.

This guy is a reporter for Talking Points Memo. A news source which I like a lot! But he hasn’t bothered to do any homework on housing. In fact, New York has built very little since the 1960s. Just a fraction per capita of most major cities in the U.S.

The budget shortfall is self-inflicted. We’ve hamstrung the local economy by pricing out our workforce and we’ve capped our tax base by refusing to grow. Literally millions of people who would be happy to move to LA, pay our taxes, work for our companies, etc. But no elected official wants that.

I think Democrats have a very hard time understanding that pro-worker and pro-union are often two very different things. They don’t want to criticize the tariffs too loudly because the UAW likes them but the UAW is a tiny sliver of the U.S. workforce. For most Americans, tariffs are very bad.

There’s so much for the United States to learn from Hungary. For example - MMR vaccines are strictly mandatory with fines for noncompliance. Unlike in the U.S. where rootless cosmopolitans such as RFK Jr. seek to undermine families, Hungary puts its people and its children first.

California has become synonymous with disfunction but our state agencies tend to be very good at the jobs assigned to them. Caltrans at building roads, Coastal Commision at blocking housing, etc. The problem is we've given too many of them bad assignments!
