Climate breakdown is happening, and is bringing a soaring risk of droughts and floods. We must build resilience into our water system or face the unthinkable: taps running dry. Privatised water companies can't, and won't, protect us. Here's why. 🧵

If you've ever seen these photos online, you may be interested to know I took them about 15 years ago You may also be interested to know that I did a 3D scan of this exact same Asaro Planes of the Head model, and you can get that scan here for zero moneys: drive.google.com/file/d/1_W-2...

discovered new state of the art movement tech (and definitely not a bug), dashing at a glancing angle on the big shrooms juices the bounce up to 11

messed around with making some ps1 textures and some very sloppy vertex painting

My commissions are open if you need/want some #art from me.

You can import gifs, frame by frame them, pause them, speed or slow them down in Pure Ref 2.0 now. PureRef is free but donations are pretty cool.

On 23 April, 2005, the first video called “Me at the zoo” was uploaded to YouTube by one of the co-founders, Jawed Karim. It was a short video from the San Diego zoo. #InternetHistory

uh oh more tiles #substancedesigner #gameart

Master and Commander/TNG Intro this was rendering all day while I was out lol

My third time seeing Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds musical. Rou Reynolds is the best Artilleryman I've seen. Hits all the notes, excellent stage presence and acting. The whole show was superb, as always. Uuullaaaaaaaa!

1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but 2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but 3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So 4. Now the LLM code points to malware.

Actively trying to reduce the amount of stuff in my home: I absolutely need at least two hefty gizmos in my office. No question.

I also love to make gothic art in my spare time. 👋 #PortfolioDay

Tariffs, shmariffs. Here’s the excellent anniversary present I got from her indoors

...the final frontier...

Dragon sculpt

some fun in UE5... still a WIP in all aspects... based on a tiny reproduction of a Kathy Lawrence watercolor that I kept coming across over the years on Pinterest and couldn't resist...

A thread of interdimensional portals I've found on walks in the British countryside.

Today on “Shaz makes creepy things” my sculpture of the skeleton of a baby mermaid

Well spent past couple of days adding, updating and general clean up of the portfolio after number years not touching it. It’s not perfect and loads more brake downs to make and add to a number of my personal projects in the coming week but it’s better now then it was start of the week at least.

Look at the high poly ACU helicopter I made for Jurassic World Evolution. I was tasked with all stages with designing, concepting, modelling, texturing and getting it game ready with lods and the like. #3dart #vehicleart #hardsurface #gamedev

hey hello hi! i am alive btw. sorry for a big lack of updates in the past months - the short story is I severely injured my hand, and have been in recovery from november until recently - unable to even use my beloved keyboard I'm almost fully good now tho, and caterpillar game is back underway 🐛

i get a few replies to ugly and wasteful generative 3d models that I post comparing them to, like, PS1 models and that makes me sad - so many 3D models of that era are masterpieces

Artists I wish I could paint like no. 706: Rob Pointon (not here but on IG at www.instagram.com/robpointonar...)

Just got my copy of the Elden Ring boardgame and it's, uh...

I just finished painting this Red eared slider model for the first time. Now I have to take some product photos of it before I send it to its new home with the Invasive Species Centre. @invsp.bsky.social #SciArt #NatureArt 🐢

Im sure many 3D artists know you can transfer normals from a sphere to get softer and smoother looking trees, but did you know the same process can be used for other visual tricks like stylized fur, clouds, or even blending low-poly objects together? Its a real versatile trick.
