Chicago friends— Northwestern University may be on Trump’s funding hit list as Republicans try to squelch US campus protests against the corrupt Netanyahu regime in Israel. This is also a first step to crush any kind of dissent on campus as the Trump regime steps up its criminal behavior.

In the USDA, multiple people have been asked to report the names of LGBTQ employee resource group leaders to higher-ranking officials. “People came to us because they needed community, needed connection. We were trying to keep each other safe. Now, we’re all just this big target.”

Apparently, Snapchat decided I needed to see Fox News clips. No thanks. It has never sent me notifications for content before, especially news clips.

The White House ordering DOJ to drop pending prosecutions is a breach of the department’s traditional independence that would be an earthshaking scandal under ordinary circumstances.

As a would-be dictator assumes the presidency today, we need to watch for signs of creeping (or even leaping) fascism. Among the indicators: vengeful prosecutions, more media compliance, further demonization of marginalized groups and suspicious military deployments. My Stop the Presses newsletter.

A vote for Hegseth is a vote for war crimes overseas. It's also a vote for using the military domestically to crush dissent. It's a vote for fascism.

His face can't even take himself seriously.

Welcome to colonialism redux!

Reminder: Trump's Project 2025 called for loosening workplace safety and nondiscrimination laws, eliminating public-sector unions, and gutting child labor protections. Don't believe for a second that Trump will be a pro-worker president.

In case you lost track: Five (FIVE!) different grand juries, made up of ordinary citizens, voted to indict Donald Trump after reviewing evidence against him. He can say whatever he wants, but you'd think Trump would understand how the criminal justice system works by now.

Big news day for me! I will not only be writing X-Factor, but working with one of my absolute favs, Bob Q, who’s doing the art.

Leah Williams X-Factor is the first series of that name that I haven't enjoyed. The story plots themselves worked, but the writing and dialogue really left me disappointed. The art really is the highlight of the series.

I finally gave in and bought Tini Howard's Excalibur. I held off since I was hesitant to go further into the Krakoan era past the initial House of X/Powers of X series, but I was really interested in the magical aspects of this book.

I have really wanted to love X-Men '97 but it just hasn't been clicking for me. Even with all the positive reactions I have seen, I thought I just might need to let it grow on me. There have been some good bits but overall it has left me unsatisfied. I do plan to finish it out to the end.

The new X-Men titles lineup has some nice ideas going for it, but overall looks very dull. The promo art really doesn't elevate it at all.

While by no means a perfect movie, Madame Web was actually quite enjoyable. I suspect this will be the last time we see of these characters on the big screen though (at least as they are currently).

I have to admit I am a bit disappointed that the MOBO Awards chose to edit out the previous members of the Sugababes in their opening montage and that the group chose not include them in their thanks.

Long-time colorist Andrew Crossley needs our help.

Making a great movie isn't reason enough to stockpile all award nominations/wins. There are many movies/performances that also deserve the recognition of their great performances. Not being nominated or receiving an award doesn't invalidate the quality of a movie.

There are comic runs that have been cut short over the years by canceling or a creative shuffle. Which cut short creative runs have left a lasting impact on you? For me: X-Nation 2099 by Tom Peyer / Humberto Ramos NewMen by Eric Stephenson / Chris Sprouse.

Merry Christmas! 🌲 🎅

I like to preserve my comics industry Twitter wisdom (insert guffaws here) for posterity, so why not share it on bluesky too, amirite?

An interesting look at the world of social media.

I've been noticing a lot of the pages I am currently Following are showing up in my feed when I use Discover. I was under the impression that the feature was to recommend new Follows.

www.gamesradar.com/teen-invento... Coming in April!

My Christmas stocking made with my favorite X-Force cover art (issue 85) by Jim Cheung (slightly edited to remove posession).

The sad thing is that there isn't anything stopping anyone from making those types of books. The real issue they are having is that it is not being done by the big two publishers and that their spot at the table isn't secured.

The one thing I missed the most from twitter and am finding on Bluesky is the comic creator conversations. They are always more interesting than the run of the mill comic speculations.

Super excited to have finally gotten the Bluesky invite. Will be interesting to see how it differs from Threads. Off to a good start with a familiar layout.
