If you see this, post a gif from one of your comfort shows. (C'mon, you knew that was coming!)

Sounds intriguing!

I love these illustrations of quotes from Jane Austen's letters! Full of biting wit, and showing the real person behind the books. #Austenesque

If you need a lift today, read the thread this is in from the beginning. The battle of the museums! And if you're not following @romanpalace.bsky.social, you're missing out.

Today needs a special writer's challenge: stop scrolling/staring at the news and write 3 sentences. They don't have to be good sentences, as long as they engage the writer brain. Yes, I'm posting this for accountability because nothing else is working right now.

Happy #PrideandPrejudiceDay! Can you imagine a world without Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy? I don't want to! #Austenesque

Feuerzangenbowle! We had to cancel our family New Years' Eve tradition because of a critically ill cat, but since 2025 desperately needed a reboot, we did it tonight. A traditional German holiday drink with a rum-soaked sugar loaf set on fire over mulled wine.

Want to know more about what happened before Pride & Prejudice started? Meet a different side of Darcy & Georgiana in my new scene in Prelude to Pemberley, the @austenvariations.bsky.social prequel group writing project. austenvariations.com/pp-prelude-t... #JAFF #Austenesque

Sounds like fun!

TFW when someone gives you a tea you know you won't like, but you drink it to be polite and end up LOVING it and drinking it every day and now you need to order more.... Gingerbread House from @fridaytea.com. Scrumptious.

The Twelve Days of Jane Austen’s Christmas 3rd Day of Christmas. December 27, 1808: Jane Austen writes about a 41-year-old widow’s second marriage, “Lady Sondes’ match surprises, but does not offend me…I consider everybody as having a right to marry once in their Lives for Love, if they can.”

I think many of the things people point to as technical flaws in current romance are actually artifacts of the frenetic release schedules many professional romance writers are forced to adhere to. No luxury of time to edit, to sit with something long enough for refinements to come organically.

What an amazing opening. I read it, stared at it, studied it, read it again. And then I gobbled down the rest The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door by H.G. Perry. What a treat! Definitely among the best of the year, probably an all-time personal favorite. Wonderful academic historical fantasy.

Pemberley, 1845. A tiny vignette about Darcy and Elizabeth, 33 years after their wedding. Only 7 paragraphs long, and one of my favorite things I've written. austenvariations.com/pp-the-untol... #JAFF

A Jane Austen Advent Calendar - December 17 December 17, 1775: Jane Austen is baptized privately at home. The Steventon church record reads, “Jane, daughter of the Rev’d Mr. George Austen, Rector of this Parish, & Cassandra his Wife was privately Batptiz’d Dec. 17th 1775.”

Going to keep posting Tea Dragons until I’m all caught up! Tonight’s dragon is the Matcha Tea Dragon: grounded and rather serious, the Matcha Tea Dragon is quite proper and a stickler for tradition. #teapainting #teadragons #dragons #watercolor

Happy Birthday to Jane Austen, born #otd in 1775. 'It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a library in possession of a good Jane Austen biography, must be in want of some googly eyes.' 👀

Happy 249th Birthday to Jane Austen! Next year's a big birthday, Miss Austen, but don't let it trouble you - you've aged beautifully! Image of Jane Austen from the freehand embroidery of my multi-talented German translator, Nicola Geiger.
