www.abc.net.au/news/2025-01... something doesn't add up tbh because I reported WAY more heinous stuff than mentioned here - like actual threats of violence, assault, rape - as well as loads of very obvious scams - and only ever been told what I've reported doesn't break the rules

Shrinking is really good. Made me cry real, actual tears. All great, love Jason Segel, and Harrison Ford is 💯. Season 3 🙏

2/3 of my former babies are now adults and 1/3 is a teenager so I think I’m officially old asf

I feel like videogames actually do provide a pretty accurate representation of real life right now because a lot of videogames are like “THE WORLD IS ENDING” and then you just collect herbs and pretend nothing is wrong

Finished today. I'd recommend it to anyone who's played Blizzard games, but I do take some issue with it. Schreier's breezy style is 💯 when we're talking about how management mess with game design issues and more superficial arguments; not so great when we're talking about sexual harassment.

palate cleanser, because the book I started after the last also featured more angry man violence against women I just couldn't bear to get into just yet. And this is SO GOOD and PERFECT. The magical 'school' we all actually deserve. Fascinating world I want more of. V glad this was recommended to me

Finished this one yesterday. Not really my favourite Liane Moriarty book tbh. Felt about 100 pages too long and I was pretty let down by the ending.

Today’s book … yes, today’s (other than the first couple of chapters, for full disclosure). Very much a ‘read in one sitting’ kind of book.

Started reading the first Bridgerton and while it’s clear the author did her research on customs, food etc the way the characters speak is entirely modern. These people have iPhones. Wouldn’t shock me if Gregory came out with skibidi toilet Ohio rizz

Finally got around to finishing book #4 of 2024 and no coincidence it’s during holidays from work! Work is toxic! Anyway, a light and pleasant read from a demographic few writers focus on (elderly women) and I appreciate that.

It just makes me sad how much work completely drains my mental (and physical) faculties so much that I can’t bring myself to ever read. Summer holidays I get into a reading habit and then work smashes it into pieces!

Book #3 2024. Stream-of-consciousness Russian novel. Surrealist; strangely relaxing, nearly hypnotic, to read.

Book #2 of 2024. Themes of belonging, immigration, adoption and where is - and who is - home.

First book of 2024 read!
