I used to think the US will never have universal healthcare because people are too selfish. Now I realize that it’s because they have a child’s understanding of the Cold War.

I think it’s not helpful to repeat claims that the administration is working on eliminating “DEIA” as though it’s some kind of corporate strategy; just say explicitly that they’re trying to eliminate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and explain how.

In the first two years of Biden’s presidency, Democrats controlled the House and Senate, yet couldn’t pass voting rights, raise the minimum wage, or the George Floyd Justice In Policing Act. “But Manchin & Sinema!” They did the bidding of their donors.

Call me crazy but maybe two men who fathered 17 children with 6 different women between them shouldn’t be lecturing us about family values!

Also if you feel strongly about Eric Adams, you should call your city councilmember to express that and ask for their position. You’d be surprised. Hochul’s stance is highly disappointing but it doesn’t come from nowhere. Press all your electeds. City elections are in 5 months. Ask candidates too.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

There is no scenario where neoliberal Democrats control the Democratic Party and the party regains popularity to dominate electorally nationwide. Progressive populism. That’s the only path for the Democrats.

Coming around to the view that a certain kind of narcissist simply needs Musk to be a genius rather than a fraud, because they want to believe there’s a hereditary Brahmin class of accomplished, beautiful minds—and that they’re a part of that class.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

You do not fight political fights with the same policy as your opponent, especially if you paint your opponent’s policy as dangerous. Democrats should not get more conservative, the party should get dark money out and advocate for Medicare for All.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

Luigi Mangione appeared in court today—his lawyer says he’s being treated unfairly, missing key evidence, and fighting an HBO documentary. Here’s what you need to know. #LegalNews #CourtUpdate youtube.com/shorts/spTst...

THE DEMOCRATS FIND LITERALLY ONE NEW PERSON CHALLENGE

This is interesting because the question is less what they will do as *legislators* and more what they will do as *politicians*. AOC is a member of the House minority, but she’s doing a lot of politics about all of this anyway.

This is pretty straightforward authoritarianism: if you don't support my toxic businesses, I will use my government power to kneecap yours.

It’s like Mr Rogers said, “look for the Luigis.”

I’m encouraged by these town halls but I also remember very clearly how this happened in 2017 as well. Instead of responding to the complaints, they stopped doing them. www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpo...
