I used to see a guy walking his two Cavalier spaniels. One Blenheim colored, the other ruby. It wasn't until I overheard him talking to them (on separate occasions) that I realized their names were Peanut and Buttercup.

Exterior regrouting work. Bag full of red colored powdered admixture stored outside.
Dog thought it'd be fun to rip the bag open. White fur, red powder. Tried to rinse it off. Looked like a bloodbath.
Bottom half of the dog was stained pink for weeks. We got the strangest looks on walks.
