The Austin City Council voted 10-1 to allow up to 5-story, single-stair buildings. Austin joins a growing list of North American cities & states bringing back the once popular building type and allowing more flexibility in the types of housing produced in the City. 📍Austin, TX

What an exciting time to be a pro-housing advocate in Cambridge! Thank you @burhanazeem.bsky.social for your leadership and dedication towards creating housing abundance for residents in Cambridge. Read full release here: www.abundanthousingma.org/cambridge-en...

Cambridge, MA just upped the ante for every pro-housing municipality in the USA, legalizing 4-to-6 floors & corner stores on every lot in the city. This is what it looks like to truly prioritize affordability & creating access to homes of all shapes and sizes. Absolutely historic.

There are 351 cities & towns in Massachusetts, but only one has ended exclusionary zoning everywhere. Congrats to Cambridge for leading on housing abundance. Special ❤️ to our board member Councilor Azeem & our members @ A Better Cambridge for spearheading this victory.

I can’t believe it - after years of advocacy, exclusionary zoning has ended in Cambridge. We just passed the single most comprehensive rezoning in the US—legalizing multifamily housing up to 6 stories citywide in a Paris style Here’s the details 🧵

A new report by the Housing Advisory Council appointed by Gov. Healey says Massachusetts needs 222,000 new homes by 2035 to keep up with the growing housing demands at a press conference today. For more information about the launch of the report, please visit Mass.Gov and join AHMA as a member!

“I think there’s a lot of room in suburbs of larger lots to build homes and those have also been the communities that are traditionally the most exclusive,” said Mike Kriesberg, policy and advocacy manager at AHMA. 🔗 to Article: bankerandtradesman.com/adus-in-dema...
