So the President not only fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He also fired the top JAGs at the Army, Navy and Air Force. Those are the lead people who determine what is a legal order and what is not. So if you're planning to do things that are illegal they're the most obvious obstacle.

📣 Today would be a good day to focus on fighting back. #NewJersey Democrats are gonna need your help this fall! NJ may be a blue state, but we can't take it for granted, especially for Governor. Donate today: #Blue25 secure.actblue.com/donate/njblu...

AXIOS: “.. GOP lawmakers are getting roasted back home over President Trump's swift cuts and firings, as polls show signs his monthlong honeymoon could be wearing off.” www.axios.com/newsletters/...

Something is shifting. They are still breaking things and stealing things. And they will keep trying to break and to steal. But the propaganda magic around the oligarchical coup is fading. (1/2)

"Six weeks ago, we had the strongest economy, employment, and stock market in history. ..All gone in 30 days."

House Republicans who were willing to hold town halls back home this week got an earful. At events from Georgia and Wisconsin to Oklahoma and Oregon, many of them faced hostile crowds furious about the sweeping budget cuts & mass firings of federal workers that Trump and Musk’s DOGE is carrying out.

Even better if you can, pay an in-person visit to Senator Johnson’s local office in Wisconsin.

Per @scaramucci.bsky.social: “He just fired the Joint Chief of Staff. Wants to install a puppet. For those who think that he is contemplating leaving, they don’t understand what happened on January 6.”

If any of our former NATO or Five Eyes allies have intelligence data and assessments, which surely they must, about the background of the leader of their new strategic adversary, the United States, now is as good a time as any to release them, subject to protection of methods and sources, of course.

Important! These special elections could flip House control if Democrats can win at least two of the three!

Trump’s betrayal of Americans: He promised not to cut Medicaid—now he’s backing a House plan that slashes $880 billion from it. All to fund $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the rich. He doesn’t care if families drown in debt, as long as he & his billionaire buddies get richer. Don’t Cut My Medicaid!

This isn’t the best way for many people to learn about all the vital functions the government performs, but at least people are starting to realize it once they get taken away.

In Roswell, Georgia, an overflow crowd packed into a town hall forum for GOP Rep. Rich McCormick, barraging him with pointed questions about DOGE. One accused McCormick of 'doing us a disservice' for supporting DOGE. This is a district Trump just carried by 22 points. www.ajc.com/politics/mcc...

No matter how many times he tries, Donald Trump just can’t seem to get this one geography question right.

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social find out where Elon Musk is and challenge him to come out in person and debate you about DOGE live in front of the media and streamed on all the major social media platforms (not just X).

Take Russia's frozen assets now (written in December 2023, now even more urgent) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

@chrismurphyct.bsky.social: It’s 4am—still debating the Republicans’ billionaire tax giveaway. We offered an amendment to say no tax cut for those making over $10m. Every Republican voted no. So we tried $100m. Every Repub voted no. So we tried $500m! Every Republican a no. See what’s going on?

"Hochul is dithering about whether to use her powers. AOC, in contrast, exercised her 1st Amendment rights to inform her constituents about their 4th Amendment rights. In doing so, she showed that the administration is tyrannical. She also showed that it’s weak — if you’re willing to confront it."

Very basic question: DOGE is made up a few dozen people most of whom aren't drawing salaries. What could $40 million be going toward? Could it be data storage outside government servers? talkingpointsmemo.com/news/doge-co...

This is in fact a real picture and it will work nicely in the ads next year about the military families devastated by Elon's illegal firings.

NEW: U.S. consumer sentiment plunges—down 10% from January over tariff and inflation fears. Most people I know think the economy is cooked thanks to Trump’s policies—designed to help the rich and screw working folks. He’s not doing shit to fix the economy or lower costs. Just broken promises.

I'm digging down details on a few stories, but I'm very interested in hearing from any federal employees or contractors: * who are just seeing DOGE folks coming into your agencies now * about what has happened in the wake of a DOGE bomb: rehires, canceled programs, big changes, etc. Signal: crg.32

New federal directives and executive orders from the Trump Administration are coming every day. If you are or think you may be affected by federal policy and program changes, I want to hear from you: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Cuts to NSF expected to be at 50% reduction in force for an independent agency that fuels discovery and innovation. "The NSF budget was $9B, or 0.13% of the total [budget]." This is not about fiscal prudence. This is about killing universities. nanoscale.blogspot.com/2025/02/the-...

YES! We have an amicus appointed by the judge in the case to dismiss the charges against Eric Adams. Basically, if neither party opposes, the court appoints someone to fight the other side. They did this in the Flynn case as well.

WIRED health & biotech writer here. If you're a USDA employee working on the government's response to the H5N1 bird flu outbreak and would like to speak securely about what's happening at the agency, please reach out to me on Signal at emullin.06. I can honor requests for anonymity.

FOX NEWS: You are against people bringing in eggs that have not been-- I mean, we have the USDA for a reason. These could be contaminated and bring illnesses in. GALLEGO: Absolutely. This is why we shouldn't be firing USDA inspectors that are actually doing oversight over avian flu

Take a moment to process this: Musk has had his private thugs—who aren’t public servants and don’t work for the government and operate under no known standard of conduct—as _federal law enforcement agents_. When a CPAC host told him his army of security is “enormous,” he replied it should be bigger.

Mark your calendars: March 4 Liberty mass protest in DC, on March 4th starting at noon. “We are stronger together” #3E #USprotests #NoKings #march4liberty #Mar4

Does Trump still think the stock market is a fair measure of his performance after the last two days?

I’m not saying we should all panic. But maybe the government shouldn’t shut down all the systems we have for monitoring this situation. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

The richest man in the world is an effing idiot–but what’s even worse is the cynicism bred by the endless lies told by Musk, promoted by the right-wing media, and bought by so many Americans.

I guess Trump isn’t worried about losing the three special elections in the House or else he wouldn’t be working so hard to freeze funding for popular programs before Congress even votes to cut them!
