Some guy on the other site posted how he used AI to make a still image of his mom hugging him as a child into a little two second clip and people are freaking out and attacking him over “cognitive security” or some shit and telling him how that’s not his mom and she isn’t real.

I can see what people mean when they say social media can be depressing by pushing unhealthy expectations of what your life should look like. I keep seeing the videos where someone is digging a mine under their house and I just feel like a loser who's not digging a cool hole.

They tried to make us think it was wrap with "air strikes" and "mission accomplished" but then immediately hit us with an encore of "regime change" and "where the fuck are the WMDs". It's like I'm twenty again.

The more I go up in weight on the power blocks the more nervous I get about working out barefooted.

It's weird because my metric for blocking on most sites is simply someone being rude because it so often correlates with other negative behaviors on those sites. Yet if I applied that same threshold here I would end up blocking half of this platform.

So sick of the anti-AI pieces where they get the model to play in dystopic story time and then report it as if it just became Terminator out of nowhere on its own.

I actually don't hate the smart glasses concept, though I rarely wear sunglasses since I mostly exist inside and underground. But glasses by nature are a way to augment your view of the world and are probably the most widely used device for doing so.

I hadn't heard of that Australian girl who faked having brain cancer before the Apple Cider Vinegar series. That's crazy.

Why are some folks in infosec so damn dramatic? Is it just everybody competing for their fifteen minutes of fame in the age of social media?

Just blocked a bunch of people on here from a thread where they were referring to people using AI to summarize things as “illiterate fucks”. Seriously, what is wrong with these people? And they post this crap using modern tech?

Whenever I don’t feel like working out I just pull up Twitter or Facebook and read some comments. I can see why Anakin gave in to the dark side.

Seeing how much kibble I can stack on the dog before she wakes up.

Using LLMs to summarize and reformat Reddit posts has been one of my more useful recent use cases. Here's a little sample post that had a few hundred comments. The first is a simple summary similar to the Amazon review summaries, and the second is a reformatting skill for dealing with walls of text.

It feels like there's a big gap in communicating how LLMs work to people. I can't really blame them for thinking the outputs are just the outputs, but they miss so much by not realizing that the output is ALSO the input.

Seeing how some of the anti-AI contrarians in education related positions talk reminds me of why I struggled so much in school.

Just said fuck it earlier and reseeded part of the lawn with lettuce. Guess we'll see what happens.

So many animal kids this year. I've tried to build safe places in the years, chase the cats away, and the crows down the street have chased off most of the hawks the last year or so.

Just walked out the back door and was greeted by a baby opossum! Well, not a baby baby, about the size of a squirrel, but still little.

If I had a portal gun I would leave one open over a table of snacks so that I could then open the other whenever I'm at and easily get to the snacks.
