(2/2) I definitely feel this was something the author wanted to explore. While the smartest (aka high logic, stem etc) version of Tavangian was able to scheme to secure the safety of his kingdom. It was a dumb version of Tavangian who figured out a way to manipulate a god and do more.

What I really like about Tavangian in stormlight is how he devalues the times when he is intellectually dumb, but emotionally smart. But it is when he is emotionally smart he is able to discover emotional vulnerabilities in people and gods, which is something his intelligence could never do. (1/2)
