obviously this is just my subjective experience, but i truly don't think Canadian politicians and media have caught up to how angry the country is. everyone i talk to wants Canadian unity and they want us to hit back at the Americans as hard as we can

I will forever support the existence of the CBC as it is an important tool for maintaining free press that supports the interest of Canada and Canadians. That being said, whoever planned and supported this whitewashing of Canada's annexation should be looking for employment elsewhere as of tomorrow.

someone is getting a free ride at your expense is the most durable attack line in America and a huge swathe of the public falls for it again and again

The attacks on DEI are a pretext for a much more radical agenda of reversing the gains of the civil rights movement, an objective the Trump administration is pursuing with zeal. A Great Resegregation. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

shit's weird rn man. i've been agreeing with Sens fans all week

Yes, this is a meaningless fake tournament. But at least we got to tell Trump to eat shit

One night only 🇨🇦

not that the reaction was perfect at the time but when russia invaded ukraine there was enough pressure that ovechkin had to make a statement calling for peace (albeit pretty weak). to suggest that asking us players to come out against annexing canada is inappropriate is insulting

it's not political when the fascist leader talks about forcible annexation in his pump-up call before we play the country he wants to annex. suck a tailpipe, Guerin

possibly my favourite trend in all this is the grudging tolerance of Canada from Bloc voters, who pretty consistently seem to say they don't like us but they hate the Americans much more

20 years ago in Florida we wrote all the time about the dangers of climate change & sea level rise. Now that it’s here, and bad, no one acknowledges they were wrong. It became “the insurance crisis.”
