One thing that intrigues me with this line of thinking is how few political strategists seem to understand that just because the contest is ostensibly x vs y, it is perfectly possible for x to lose the seat without losing many votes directly to y (and could have kept the seat by appealing to z).

Keir Starmer’s determination to save Britain's tiny steel industry contrasts with his continued refusal to offer meaningful help to the many more workers whose livelihoods still depend on the EU www.adambienkov.co.uk/p/keir-starm...

Conservative Shadow Business Secretary Andrew Griffith tells the BBC that "too many" Liberal Democrats are vegans

I've been suspended by Instagram. Obviously this is bullshit - but underlines how we at the mercy of the whims of unaccountable tech giants. New post 👇 www.owenjones.news/p/ive-been-s...

Matt Hancock intervened personally to help a pizza firm, owned by a Conservative donor, win a lucrative Covid PPE contract. Two days before winning the deal, the company, which had no previous experience of supplying medical equipment, removed ‘pizza’ from its name bylinetimes.com/2025/04/11/m...

Former GB News host Dan Wootton hit with £7,500 costs over his failed court bid to reveal the name of a former colleague who accuses him of posing as 'Maria Joseph' in order to trick him into sending him sexual images and video online bylinetimes.com/2025/04/10/d...

Susan Hall is now the subject of a complaint to the GLA monitoring officer over this. Labour Assembly Member Leonie Cooper: "Reposting, sharing and making jokes... which depicts violence against politicians is beyond the pale. "I hope [she] takes the opportunity to reflect and apologise.’’

Two years after Byline Times published our first investigation, one of Dan Wootton's former colleagues alleges to the High Court that Wootton tricked him into sending intimate pictures and an explicit video of himself, while pretending to be a woman named "Maria Joseph" www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

What a duo of tweets.

Deranged. Will secure the collapse of a significant part of the UK university system, at a time when there is a lot of money to be made out of it, for no political return. If the case is explained properly most will not mind foreign students coming.

The Dead End of Keir Starmer’s ‘British Cars for British Workers’ Trump Cosplay The Prime Minister's attempts to embrace Trump-style rhetoric, while rejecting everything that rhetoric implies, risks making him look ridiculous, argues Adam Bienkov

New from 404 Media: 'Elon Musk' was a prolific money launderer for drug traffickers & hackers. It was secretly the FBI. I've found the FBI ran one of the biggest online money laundering rings for a year. The full story of the takeover here: www.404media.co/elon-musk-wa...

Why Keir Starmer's attempts to embrace Trump-style flag-waving rhetoric while rejecting everything such rhetoric implies, risks making him look ridiculous bylinetimes.com/2025/04/08/k...

Just the Conservative party's candidate for Mayor of London sharing an AI-generated far-right meme of Sadiq Khan being drowned

"My choice in these volatile times is backing British brilliance," says Keir Starmer, who promises to deliver "British cars for British workers"

Asked whether Trump's trade war means the UK will now consider re-entering a customs union with the EU, Keir Starmer's spokesman replies that "we're not going backwards when it comes to Brexit"

Relax everyone, it's all going to be okay

Britain’s obsession with trying to negotiate exemptions from Trump’s tariffs is entirely the wrong approach. The overwhelming national interest lies in working with others to stand up to Trump and try to preserve as much as possible of the global trading system. Mark Carney is showing the way

So according to Kemi Badenoch "putting our national interest first" involves cheering on a foreign government arbitrarily detaining and deporting our own country's elected MPs

Was just on @bbc5live.bsky.social with Nicky Campbell talking about why British politics has to be realistic about the fact that the US under Trump is no longer an ally of the UK, and is unlikely to be again as long as he remains in the White House bylinetimes.com/2025/03/04/d...

🔴 NEW 🔴 Paul Marshall, the hedge fund boss and owner of GB News, massively increased his stake in Elon Musk's Tesla ahead of Trump's election. All the while, his outlets were pumping out pro-Musk content 👀

Keir Starmer refuses to rule out making even more cuts to welfare in order to pay for the economic hit from Trump's trade tariffs. Also refuses to rule out handing tax cuts to US tech companies in trade talks with the White House

Conservative Shadow Business Secretary Andrew Griffith says that Trump's 10% trade tariffs on the UK, which are forecast to do 0.4% less damage to our GDP than if we were part of the EU, is a "vindication" of Brexit, which is forecast to have already reduced our GDP by... 5%

Matt Hancock used his personal email account to help a 'VIP' supplier win a £25 million PPE Covid contract The company, which supplied the NHS with tens of millions of pounds worth of completely unusable PPE, later went bust, owing taxpayers millions bylinetimes.com/2025/04/03/m...

There are few politicians who would benefit more from watching Adolescence - a show about the dangers of individuals being radicalised by online cranks - than Kemi Badenoch

What's astounding is that Badenoch would - criticise a show she hasn't seen - invoke a false, debunked race baiting claim from a far right influencer who hasn't seen it either - take a shot at a show about the dangers of credulously believing online BS by herself credulously believing online BS

Kemi Badenoch's spokesman repeatedly refuses to tell me where the leader of the opposition got her claim from that the main character in Adolescence had been "race-swapped" from black to white, telling me that it's "astounding" that I should ask him about it

Kemi Badenoch's spokesman says he "hasn't spoken" to the leader of the opposition about her position on Donald Trump's upcoming trade tariffs against the UK. The single biggest global news story this week and they haven't spoken about it

Paying journalists to be assistants to a machine for churning out press releases is the opposite of what journalism should be about

Not making time to watch the actual programme everyone’s talking about but seemingly having time to absorb a twitter conspiracy about it is the most Kemi Badenoch response I ever heard

The thing about all these pieces complaining about Marine Le Pen's conviction is that not a single one of them bothers to explain why someone found guilty of embezzling millions of Euros from public funds should be allowed to get away with it

Keir Starmer's Government has "privately made clear [to the White House] that it is prepared to cut or even abolish the digital services tax against major technology companies" www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Can't remember a statement by a Chancellor that has gone down as badly, as quickly, and with almost all parts of the political spectrum, as this one

The Treasury has sent out a load of quotes from the CEOs of defence companies, venture capital firms and City lobby groups praising Rachel Reeves' spring statement
