So fab 2 see our wildflower turf blooming at Sidney Boyd house, NW6. We say let’s plant all our estates around Camden and London with 30sqm of #lindumturf and bring biodiversity to our housing estates! #sayno2lawns #wildaboutcommunity @richardolszewski.bsky.social @adamdkharrison.bsky.social

Thanks to Christ Church Primary school in Hampstead, who invited us to deliver an assembly to their pupils this morning. The assembly, on #airquality and #activetravel was part of @camdencouncil.bsky.social Year of Clean Air for Camden schools project. šŸš¶šŸšµšŸ«

Fantastic to be on the newly pedestrianised Camden High Street, which starts this bank holiday weekend! So much more space for people to enjoy now, and much safer for everyone on the street 😃

New research shows children are 82% more likely to suffer fatal injuries in a SUV collision than one involving a car. In children under 10, the risk of being killed was 130% higher. www.standard.co.uk/news/transpo...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've met lots of "Reform or Green" voters on the doorstep as well as "Tory or Green [but neverlabour]". Green voters aren't just wannabe Labour voters.

Quite. People absolutely need to not behave like headless chickens.

when populists win, they represent a historical shift in the country when liberals win, they now have to deliver

Pritzker: The reckoning is here. And now that this culture of timidity is on display, these same do-nothing Democrats want to blame our losses on the defense of Black people, trans kids, and immigrants, instead of on their own lack of guts and gumption.

It's great to see the public art across Regent's Park estate. Public art makes such a difference to cities--we need more of it in London! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

If you are asking this morning what Labour can learn from this, the answer is - almost nothing. The election is four years away.

Camden Council has approved the application to make Ye Olde Swiss Cottage pub an Asset of Community Value. Great work from local people and Primrose Hill @camdenlabour.bsky.social councillor @matt-cooper.bsky.social on speaking up and securing this šŸ™Œ www.hamhigh.co.uk/news/2512193...

Today we held the Camden Citizens' Action Day, bringing together residents–including original 2019 Climate Assembly members–to shape our next Climate Action Plan until 2030 šŸŒ Thank you to everyone who came and watch out for the proposals this summer! camdenclimateaction.commonplace.is

If people want to poison their families burning wood indoors let them. But whether you ban wood-burning stoves or not they should not be permitted to poison others for what is a *completely unnecessary* form of heat. Force the industry to innovate. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

My objection to this is twofold: 1) It is stupid to do seat-by-seat models about an election that will occur after the end of Trump's second term. 2) If pollsters going to spend money on things, why not, e.g. try & get a better sample of young men of all kinds or ethnic minorities of all ages?

Good to be out in Runcorn for the by-election next month. Good response on the doors for Karen Shore–campaigning to make sure she joins @dannybealesmp.bsky.social in parliament! 🌹

Warm evening, warm reception chatting to residents on Chalton Street & Levita House about community safety, housing & what @camdenlabour.bsky.social is doing to look after people Somers Town. Folks keen to hear about the £24 million from the British Library for new social housing in the area

I wish TfL would actually promote this. If they want people to use public transport, they have to not hate the experience!

Far left šŸ¤ Far right

A mini section of cycle track is now usable on Crowndale Rd to the west of the incoming bus bypasses. Further west the southern end of Bayham St is having its 3 zebra crossings relocated

I’ve been cycling around Holborn since I first arrived in London as a student 25 years ago. Oh my goodness, the new cycle lanes make it so much better - it’s great to be working with @CamdenCouncil @AdamDKHarrison on the improvements to the gyratory and the wide neighbourhood.

in this week's newsletter! an actually serious essay, in which I try to figure out why on earth so many of the mainstream political elites feel that the far right ought to be able to get away with everything: youngvulgarian.substack.com/p/why-the-el... [free to read!]

It was great to show deputy mayor of Vienna Ulli Sima and her team around Camden's flagship West End Project. The WEP removed the awful Tottenham Court Road-Gower Street gyratory, reduced traffic hugely and brought in wider pavements, new parks and extra public seating. 🌳

Macron: ā€œEuropean sanctions against Russia will be lifted only if it returns to Ukraine's internationally recognised borders.ā€

It wasn't mentioned in the Chancellor's speech, but the Spring Statement papers contain a major suite of anti-tax avoidance proposals, probably the toughest ever introduced. Thread:

It's striking how little local rail projects like this cost when set against wider public spending. Immense bang for your buck. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Before and after: This used to just be a bit of nondescript street. Now it’s a micro space for people. As I walked past, this kid walked up and immediately started playing. Amazing what happens when you design city spaces for people. Not just for cars.
