What an unbelievable embarrassment the US President and VP are to their country. Ambushing an allied leader in the Oval Office, demanding his gratitude, while Europe's poorest country and fights a war for survival and sovereignty... Land of the sheep, home of the weak ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

There are 43 CRUs across the US. Their mission is to conduct research, train & educate graduate students, & provide technical assist. to cooperators (like state F&W agencies). Theyโ€™ve already lost scientists to initial layoffs. Their complete loss would be devastating to conservation & education.

Dublin was blue and yellow today, and the sun shone down on us! Ukraine still stands, and we still #StandWithUkraine ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ This is the largest drone attack against Ukraine so far: last night Russia launched 267 Shahed drones & decoys all across Ukraine. Air defence says it intercepted 138, 119 got lost, 4 returned to Belarus/Russia & damages were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Poltava, Kyiv & Zaporizhia regions.

The yanks are expediting a long list of 2025 bullshit they will have to answer for...

Friday SCOOP: @vox.com has learned that USFWS has frozen its vast portfolio of international conservation grants. This is far beyond the scope of USAID-funded work and will inevitably harm wildlife internationally and in the US. @benjij.bsky.social has the story: www.vox.com/down-to-eart...

Good thread, and a reality check for some in the UK, too. If culling + another 50,000 deer killed by cars every year doesn't make a dent right now, expecting a few hundred Lynxes or Wolves to regulate Britain's deer isn't realistic. But yes, Britain should restore Lynx and maybe Wolves anyway.

Sorry, but while I believe it is spread in good faith, I think this is a good time to call out this common mistruth in the Irish ecological community. Indulge me for a minute, I just finished 5 years in Europe working with wolves, lynx, and deer. "Lack of wolves" is not the problem. Short๐Ÿงต

Wouldn't be Valentine's Day without a camera trap picture and a shitty caption โค๏ธ
