Big Monday morning rejection today. For something I was perhaps wrongly a little hopeful about.

I believe it was Immanuel Kant who said “life is really just a roguelike metroidvania deck builder with soulslike elements”

I’m so excited to be part of @camdenpt.bsky.social’s spring season with two work in progress performances of my new solo show!

I’ve always loved how much Jeremy Strong seems to genuinely care so much about acting and storytelling. And how unembarrassed he is to be so deeply nerdy about craft and process. This brilliant interview only makes me like him more.

I just saw Ballet Shoes and it was absolutely incredible. As close to a perfect family show as I can imagine. It made me glad to be an artist and I’m sure will turn many of its younger audience members towards following their dreams. If you need a good laugh and a good cry, go!

Wow it is quite a sense of relief to read “those who mimic the Nazi salute even as a joke or to troll their opponents trivialise the horror of the Holocaust”. Apparently there still are some adults left.

I know why this has happened but I feel very sad for the artists who spent years making a new musical only for it to be unceremoniously cancelled right before the finish line. Of course Gaiman is awful. But so are Dahl and Wagner and they get staged every day.

If all the places people actually want to go to in London disappear? Then why would people actually want to come here?

If the only criterion for something’s success is that it’s the most financially profitable use of a space, we’re going to have a pretty shitty world. You can always make more money out of something by squeezing it differently. The question is: is that all there is?

A wonderful article about Film Noir and The Holocaust by my friend Darren Richman who refuses to get on Bluesky lwlies.com/articles/dou...

This thread & article is a reminder of the huge power of an artist using audience misconceptions of a medium as part of the art. It once again shows the power of video games to provoke, move, and hopefully change people’s minds.

The moment I saw the video I knew what it was. Anyone else is just making excuses.

Ah yes this seems very real…

alright. friends, Jews, LGBT+ people, people of colour. having done my Hour Of Terror this morning, here's my conclusion: it's going to be like this every day and they want us terrified all the time. now go and make your work and care for yourself & your people. that is a victory, every day.

Ooh. This looks cool!

I do wish playwrights would stop using cancer as a metaphor for consequences being visited on those who are careless or over consuming or had it coming

😢 David Lynch. RIP to a genius. Truly he had access to somewhere few get to visit.

David Lynch was key to my understanding that artist-viewer dynamic where you don’t necessarily know what you’re looking at, but you feel confident the person who made it really does which makes you feel safe to just go with it. Led me onto a comfort with Beckett and whole strange worlds besides. RIP

Tonight we let the chaos loose. It’s press night for Revenge: After the Levoyah. To our brilliant team, you’ve created something electric. The energy you bring to this show is exactly what theatre should be. And London already knows (aka packed houses and tickets moving fast). Critics, buckle up 😈

I have found working consistently as a director while chronically ill challenging and am especially eager to do more sound design for plays. If you’re looking for someone do get in touch.

“Isn’t she beautiful? There she is. There she is. There she is. There she is. Mama is everywhere! He must have loved her so much.”

Just a reminder that I have designed the sound for the very excellent ‘Revenge : After The Levoyah’ which is transferring to @theyardtheatre.bsky.social. It opens on Thursday and runs until 25th January. I would love to do more sound design for plays so if you’re looking for someone do think of me.
