Consumer software will be much easier to transition to AI coding, there's fairly little risk: bugs annoy people, but don't literally kill them. But I believe that the software to run airports, banking, hospitals, etc, will need significant human coders and oversight for a very long time to come.

You're not alone! I've been coding iOS since the SDK launched, and Swift for 5+ years, and my eyes glaze over when reading the forums. On one hand i learn a lot, on the other hand gosh i'll be learning forever and still not catch up to some of these folks π

I've been wanting something like this, and have thought about just building it. I have tons of markdown notes i've downloaded for all my bookmarks. I'm currently using Cursor with Claude, but would love to have something local.

instead of the kid playing and imagining the motivations and words of the toy, the robot fills in the blanks. that's true for any product where creativity is the point. sometimes that reduced possibility is worth the tradeoff for the speed of AI, for a toy, the possibility is the whole purpose.
