Seriously plush remote office setup at grandma and granddad’s place

Yesterday I turned 40 (FORTY! FOUR-OH!) for crying out loud. Never mind, my lovely colleagues @moredunfoundation.bsky.social were there to simultaneously soften the blow and take the mick out of me…

Not usual for us to be up at the farm in January- but it looked an absolute picture in the snow, set off beautifully by everyone’s favourite sheep dog!

Heading back to work today like…

Our office door, now with added 🐑 🎅

🚩PhD opportunity furthering sustainable control of gastrointestinal nematodes and anthelmintic resistance in sheep flocks through mathematical modelling with me at @bioss.bsky.social alongside Fi Kenyon, @adhayward.bsky.social (Moredun) and Rob Kelly (Edinburgh Uni). Please share! #parasitology

Do you or your promising undergrad/Master's student have an interest in mathematical modelling, parasitology, sustainable agriculture, with great opportunities for knowledge exchange? Then look at this PhD project with @daveewing.bsky.social and us folks at Moredun! www.findaphd.com/phds/project...

Tell me you have a 3-year-old daughter without telling me you have a 3-year-old daughter…

Missing the annual Soay sheep project meeting for the first time since 2007 today. Happily, I get to spend it trying to feed laxatives to a 3-year-old…

Ugh, the BSP conference clashes with our girl’s birthday. There’s always WAAVP though…which clashes with our son’s birthday 😭 Reckon I can swap a in short research talk for the traditional treasure hunt/pass the parcel/beat the crap out of dads with balloons?

Fantastic PhD project with the awesome Amy Sweeny, making use of some very hard-won data

Hello! I'm Micky, a PhD Candidate at the University of Calgary studying the ecology and evolution of parasites in Sable Island horses using DNA metabarcoding. I spent 3 summers on a deserted island as a glorified poop picker and amateur horse photographer.

What a PhD project this is! Awesome department, brilliant supervisors and a fascinating topic…

Heading into Edinburgh for the @bioss.bsky.social annual meeting and looking forward to an afternoon of having my head exploded by mathematical models and proper stats by people who really aren’t just messing around!

Do you or your promising undergrad/MSc student fancy a PhD involving fun fieldwork, evolutionary theory and one of the best evo eco data sets out there? Then look no further than this one looking at the role of maternal effects in evolution in @SoaySheep! e4-dtp.ed.ac.uk/e5-dtp/super...
